Transformation story

When I was in high school, I played every sport there was to offer, but my
passion was power lifting. I went on to lift for Louisiana Tech University,
where I won the national More ...
When I was in high school, I played every sport there was to offer, but my
passion was power lifting. I went on to lift for Louisiana Tech University,
where I won the national championship. After college, I went to the Police
Academy and became a deputy sheriff. As you can imagine, I was in the best
shape of my life! After the academy, I began to work patrol, in which I rode
around the parish (Louisiana) working 12 hour night shifts, had court during
the day, and was also on the SWAT team. Although we had SWAT training
once a week, it wasn't enough to keep me in shape, and I slowly let "time"
become an excuse.
I had ordered SI6 in 2004, but with the "time" excuse, I failed to stick with it.

In 2007, I decided that I wanted to look great in a swimsuit. So,in March I
dusted off the SI6 and pushed play everyday. I soon went from 230 pounds
to 198. June 2007 my husband and I found out that we were expecting.
SOOOO, I ate and ate and ate. I drank a 16 oz. strawberry milkshake nearly
everyday for 9 months! So, I should not have been surprised when stepping
on the scales on March 25, 2008 to see a really large 249 in red on that
digital scale.

So, I lost some weight--gained some--and lost some more. It really wasn't until I recently I 'woke up' and realized that this was more than wanting to look good. A few months ago, I had my first heart 'episode'. My heart rate rose to over 155, and a few minutes later bottomed out. This was the first of many. It has been doing this for several months now, and I have had ECGs, Echocardiograms, had to wear a heart monitor, and have an upcoming dr. appointment with a cardiologist at the end of this month. It's really sad that this is what it took to open my eyes, but true.

Since this time, I have been faithfully working out and have been eating only healthy foods. I have lost about 30 pounds, and plan to loose somemore. It is so rewarding to accomplish this, but more importantly-it's sooo rewarding to see my 2 year old eating healthy foods, rather than Mac & Cheese or Mashed Potatoes.
