I am absolutely turned on by surrounding myself with individuals who are strong in body and mind and who share similar values. My heroes are those who are not afraid to reach for their dreams, or ask for help in achieving them-especially in the midst of naysayers.
I am here to meet and help people of similar and different interests with the same goal of establishing a healthy mind, body and attitude. I am also here to learn by others’ experiences. By helping and learning from others, I am able to achieve my personal success through accountability.
I like to think that I am a very versatile person and enjoy new experiences. I am constantly trying to improve myself- intellectually, physically, spiritually, emotionally.

My story comes from both sides of the track. I have been overweight. I have been fit and healthy. And I have been insecure in both scenarios. What I have learned from both situations was that solution lies within your mind. If you think it, so you are. There were times when I wished and prayed to be slim. You go through different cycles in your mind of negotiating, bereting, and pleading with yourself to become slim again. Wondering what happened. How did you end up getting so far off course? Self-image and self-worth inexplicably become synonyms, and at every glance in magazines, on TV ads/programs, the thin people that walk by, or even an old classmate whose pictures shows her happy as a fit person sends you retreating inside yourself or to the nearest pint of Ben and Jerry’s, lol.
The older you get the more you realize that you don’t recall ever being as afraid of taking risks like you are now. And by risks, I mean the perceivably low risks that most people initiate everyday such as going out on a date, going to the grocery store and buying anything that looks “less than healthy,” or otherwise venturing out anywhere that qualifies as a public venue. No, these things are now painful because you feel bad about yourself. They create an emotional anxiety that can have you preoccupied for hours. You spend so much time talking yourself up enough just to “get through” these events. In an effort to avoid rejection at all costs, you take yourself out of the game of life before somebody somewhere points their finger at you and tells you that you don’t belong here.
I am here to tell you that you do belong. We all do. How we live is our choice. Personally, I am tired of being unhappy. I am tired of being emotionally unavailable because I have assumed that the size of my pants equate to my worthiness to be loved and accepted. What logic is that? How crazy is it that we think and come to these conclusions?
I have become a MDB coach because my greatest strengths are revealed when I am helping others. My ability to help myself lies when I am motivating and encouraging others. It triggers a mechanism in me that says “if you are going to give advice, you had better know what you are talking about and you HAD BETTER set the example! That’s what I love about MDB concept. We are REAL people. That just because we are having difficulties making the mind/body connection alone, DOESN’T mean we don’t have the motivation, drive and capability of achieving our goals together.
I have been a certified personal trainer. I am a Marine Corps. veteran. I have the knowledge of what needs to be done to become fit and healthy again. I’ve just been lacking the community support that MDB affords. Now that I’ve found this program, I am very excited to reawaken and meet the real me that resides deep inside. I’ve wanted so badly to see her again for so long. Now I believe I can. The power of change and motivation begins and ends with the belief that it is possible. And that all resides within the power of our mind.
