I am trying to get in better shape because lately I have felt very run down. I was working out at at Curves for about 3 months and I lost 3lbs of fat but thats it. I was so dissappointed. I decided to try beach body's P90 workout program, and all I can say is WOW. I am a mother of 7 children, ages 27, 20, 19, 17, 16, 15, 12, and 11. We are a military family, and I am also a finance analyst. I did not take working out seriously because the other women i worked out with at Curves made me feel as though I shouldn't be trying to lose weight, they often made comments that I had a great shape and had low self esteem because I wanted to work out. Some even mentioned some werid mental illness called body dysmorphia. Noone bothered to recognize that my body fat% was off the charts, and that was unhealthy.
I started to pay the price of not taking my workout seriously. Curves was more of a social gathering.
My husband is in Iraq on his 3rd tour, and since he left I had begun to feel overwhelmed, barely able to get through work come home from volunteering and make dinner, after dinner I always went straight to bed no matter what time it was. I had no energy. I volunteered for the election after work from Nov 2007-Nov 2008, but it was arduous. I knew I was in trouble when walking up a few stairs caused me to be out of breath.
I made a promise to myself to take my health more seriously, starting with getting fit and losing the excess body fat that is waying me down. Beachbody P90, seemed to fit my timeline. My husband will return for R&R mid-March. I want to surprise him with a brand new me.
