Do everything you can and nothing less! This is my philosophy in life! If you can do this, you will never have any regrets.

I am a California native. Love everything about California from the beaches to the Sierras.

Currently, I am a research associate at The Moores Cancer Center at UCSD! My work involves small molecule design and synthesis to block angiogenic pathyways and ultimately prevent

So far Power 90 has kicked my crack and I couldn't be
happier about it. Sometimes we all need a swift kick.

I remember sitting in front of the infomercial going "what
a crock of sh...!" Strangely enough I ordered Power 90
and some resistance bands for my wife and I to begin our transformation. One word summed up my attitude: skeptical!

After graduating and moving on to a postdoctoral postion
at the Scripps Research Institute everything changed. No
time for martial arts, softball, basketball, or anything for that
matter. Some days I was driving an hour and a half each
way! My gym membership remained idle as money
continued to be thrown away for no reason. I got a
treadmill for us, but it is just a mere piece of furniture. My weight system sits trapped in the spare bedroom creating nice indentations in the carpet.

With our schedules and commutes excercise became
impossible and late night eating occured at an alarming
frequency. Fruits and vegetables were long gone from
our diet and we got hooked on a little place called Mr.
Taco down the street from us in San Marcos, CA. Deep
fried taco shells and shredded beef, wow was this good!

Life meandered down a dark path as the passing of my father
continuously troubled me. That was over a year ago and I
am still in denial in many ways. Unhappiness followed
me around and my life seemed to keep sinking down. Living a healthy life was the least of my priorities.

Then I watched the Power 90 infomercial, and entered a pseudo-euphoric state. I started to believe I could attain results like one of these individuals I saw on the television. It was not just the fat melting off of these people it was the change in their posture, the change in their facial expressions, the change in their lives that I hoped my wife and I could also achieve.

Well as I write I am on Day 34 and my wife is on day 29,
and the transformation is incredible. We have not missed one workout yet and our diet has been terrific. The scheduling at times has been difficult (average workout time is 11pm and on the road to work the next morning by 6am) but our strong will has prevailed.

We still have not touched Mr. Taco since we started. And the two of us keep each other focused on eating right. I grill alot of halibut,
mahi mahi, shark, and of course chicken breast. Once in
awhile we sneak in a tomato pizza from Round
Table, so good!
Recommendations: Myoplex Lite meal replacement
(strawberry and cream), Tri-O-Plex bars (rolled
outs and quite filling for a protein bar: PB and choco chip), pumpernickel
bread, cheerios, raisin bran, yogurt and granola,
avocados, grapefruit, soy nuts, and of
course artichokes and mushrooms.

Our lives have changed and Power 90 is quite uplifting.
We are still searching for more energy, but happiness is
ever increasing. I still have my guiness stout occasionally.

I have to say that small variations in the program
help tremendously. Paying attention to which band is used for a particular excercise or doing
swimmer's press super-slow makes it more challenging.
Super-slow negatives are a favorite of mine and I believe
they are great to do once a week.

The biggest problem I do have during the cardio workout has to do with my duck feet- which could be
considered suction cups. They do not agree with X-work,
but I work through it. I love the fast feet but my arches (or lack thereof) are always on fire afterward.

Power 90 is put together extremely well. Push-pull and
recovery sequences are well designed. Like I said in
the begining, this program is kickin' my crack and my determination grows with the completion of every workout.
I hope the rest of you feel the same.

As I write this I have just completed P90X which was incredible to say the least. A monster of a program that pushed me to that "taste your dinner twice zone" on several separate occasions. With the support from the maniaX and Maniacs it turned out to be a great 90 days, that I will always remember with a smile. As of now my body fat % is the lowest it has ever been and I can say I am at a peak in my fitness level.

Update as of 7/29/2007 I am currently at a fitness level that has me highly active. I do century rides in cycling, half-marathons, pick-up soccer, martial arts, and a heck of alot of PlyoX and other P90 and P90X routines. I now combine the best movements out of Tony Horton's videos to give me the best possible workout. I feel I am in the best shape of my life and it feels great!

If you are willing to work, these programs will not disappoint. Do all that you can and nothing less!

Hope everyone is crushing their own workouts and good luck with your personal transformations!
