Hello my name is Nelson; I am 43 years old and the Step father of 2 boys ranging in the ages of 22 and 20 and my Lovely wife. We live in the wonderful state of New Jersey and I have recently started the P90X program.


My story is simple since childhood I have always been over weight. While in High School I lost weight during baseball season but was never able to keep it off. At the age of 32 I started a workout program in a local gym. I saw some results but not life changing. Like everyone else I became frustrated with my body and being out of shape. I dislike shopping for new clothing. When my wife brought me new clothing I would only wear them one time and hide them. I was picky about the clothes I would wear. I was always tired and a grouch. Finding something I felt comfortable became a chore, because some of the clothing was tight and showing every bulge in my body. I knew I needed to make a change when I was not able to tie my shoe lace without breathing heavy.

Then one day I was up late on a Saturday night and I saw and infomercial, this one seemed to be different. There was a man talking about a workout program for regular people. The program was P90X and here was this 40+ year old guy who was RIPPED! At first I was leary about the program. So I did not purchase the program that night. I waited about a month before I purchased my first Beach Body program. I have also purchased the chin-up bar, The Recovery Drink, The Meal Replacement Drink and P90X Peak Health Formula. My program arrived about a week later and I got started. I did my before photos and measures, arranged some space in the home to do my work outs and went for it.

The first week was very hard for me, because I was really out of shape. I even struggled with the warm up at the beginning of every workout. Another thing that made my first week difficult was that Monday I did Chest & Back, AB Ripper X -Tuesday I did Shoulders & Arms, AB Ripper X – Wednesday I did Legs & Back. As you can see I did not follow the P90X from the booklet. I really worked my butt for the first week. Another challenge for me during my first week was the Yoga X. I have never done Yoga in my life until September 13, 2008. I did not know that you could get a good workout by doing Yoga X.

October 11, 2008 will be my 30th workout session which means that I am at the end of Week # 5. I have lost 7.5 Lbs which is a great start for me. I really like how my body is changing. I know that change is hard, but take it one day at a time. You will see results as long as you “Keep pushing play!” and “Do your best and forget the rest!” 2 of Tony Horton motto’s.

You see it is not about anybody else but YOU! You are the only one who can change the way you look. And you CAN change the way you look! You strive to do YOUR personal best each time and you WILL get better. You WILL start to feel better. You WILL start to have more energy than you have in years! After all we did not get to the weight and shape we were in when we started this program overnight and your transformation back into the healthy you will also not happen over night – but IF you keep pushing play, and IF you truly forget the rest and do YOUR BEST it WILL HAPPEN FOR YOU.
