After a lifetime of fighting what I always considered genetics, growing up in a 70s home of processed food, and never learning the RIGHT way to eat, I got tired of saying, "Someday!" Finally, it was THE day. I decided to stop making excuses and start living for my health. Since that decision 15 months ago, I have never felt better. Finally, it was THE day. I decided to stop making excuses and start living for my health. Since that decision 15 months ago, I have never felt better. Thanks to a steady diet of healthy choices, making the commitment every day to exercise, and believing in myself, I have become what I wanted. I still have a ways to go, but I am stronger, leaner and healthier than I have ever been in my life. The energy I have with my three children, my husband, and my middle school teaching job is amazing!

When I decided to get on the ball, I dusted off the Power 90 DVDs we owned and settled into a routine. Soon enough, I was ready for a challenge. My husband and I decided to purchase P90X, and with a large library of fitness books, diet ideas, and workout videos, we were skeptical. However, we soon came to find it is the best money we have ever spent. Now I look forward to pushing play every day.
I incorporate all sorts of cardio routines into my day that I never thought possible. Step aerobics, distance running and high intensity interval training have rounded out the X for me.
I still face the same battles everyday when it comes to making the right choices, settling for another hour of sleep, or slacking on my intensity. But I always know that it is cheating myself. And, as a teacher, I know cheating is not a great attribute!
I love the challenges and get frustrated with the walls. I call my coach and complain, listen, and love the help she has given me. And I like helping others realize they too can become what it is they set their mind to be.
I know I am not near the end of my tranistion. I have weight I want to lose, muscle yet to gain and jeans I want to button! I have many obstacles to face, but I welcome them because everytime I reach a goal I have set, I realize the strength I hold within myself!
