Hi there, my name is Roxanne. In past years I didn't need to worry to much about my weight. I was always tall and slendor, and had one of those high metabolisms, that no matter what I ate, it seemed to just melt off. Even after I had my four children, it was fairly easy to get back into shape. But that all changed when I turned 40. I started having to watch what I ate more. Even after I had my four children, it was fairly easy to get back into shape. But that all changed when I turned 40. I started having to watch what I ate more. Then I realized that it wasn't enough just watching what I ate, but I needed to exercise also to keep off the weight. Because I wasn't on a daily or even weekly exercise routine, I slowly started putting on the pounds. At 170 lbs and 5'9", that is more than I have ever weighed in my life, even when I was pregnant. I felt sluggish, my jeans and clothes fit tight. I hated trying to figure out what to wear in the mornings, trying on about 15 things before something looked okay. When I first decided to make a change, I joined the Beach Body Team, then within a month and a half the holidays came and I gained an extra 5 lbs. Feeling worst than ever, I decided that's it! I had to eat right and exercise in order to lose the weight and feel good again. Not only did my clothes not fit, but it was hard to breathe. So I joined the Beach Body Club, it's like having your own personal nutritionist working for you. It has made it very easy for me to eat right, without getting a lot of cravings. You just go to the Diet and Nutrition section and print out a weekly grocery list and then the menu for the week also. By following the menu's and exercising, I have lost 7 lbs in just 2 and 1/2 weeks. With the groceries on hand and the menu right there on my fridge, it is easy to stick to the meals and they are easy and quick to prepare. That's important to me. I don't get hungry eating 3 meals and 2 easy snacks a day. It's funny getting to eat so much and be losing weight, it's great! I already breathe and feel better, my clothes are not so tight. I'm not done yet though, my goal is 145 lbs by February. I know I will reach my goal, if not right on time, I will keep going till I do. I have seen results and it has given me hope to keep going. Hi my name is Roxanne.
My goal is to lose weight, and starting at 171.3 is the most weight I have ever been in my life, even pregnant, with all of my babies. We have five children, yours mine and ours. :) Four sons and one daughter.
I finally realized that after 40, you really need to eat healthy and exercise, to stay in shape. Doing one or the other anymore just doesn't work.
Being 51 now, I started putting on weight every year past 40. With 20 lbs extra, I was feeling weighed down and miserable in my clothes. My eating habits were, eat what you see, and my excercise life was non exsistent.
My goal weight now is 150. As soon as I get there, I will start lifting weights. I think I will reach that goal within two weeks, by the middle of March.
I have been eating right, and walking 3 miles a day. I feel so much better.
I've lost 11 lbs so far and have about 10 more to go to hit my goal.
Besides being able to sing better, I've noticed that my endurance is so much better while walking with less weight.
And I need my lung power, because I am a worship leader, and I want to sing my heart out for the Lord. But, the truth is that I only have about 1/2 of my lungs left.
We have something that runs in our family gene pool, that is called Alpha 1 Antitrypsn Deficency. I know it sounds really big, most people call it Alpha 1. Alpha 1 is when two genes, one from your mom and dad, cause a malfunction and you get emphysema really early in life, or you can have liver problems with it too. So if you know someone that is really young, that has a lot of shortness of breath, it would be good to have them tested for this.
I was feeling the effects of this when I was only 28. My brother has already had a full lung transplant at the age of 36, and we have two other siblings out of 10 that have the "bad" two genes, that cause this.
As long as I can breathe, I will sing my heart out for Him, Him being Jesus.
So it helps to have less weight to carry around. They say the more muscle you have, the less oxygen you need. I can breathe so much better now. I can't wait to see the results of the rest of this weight off. Plus, I want to look nice in my black dress :)
When I think about how tired I am, I ask Jesus to help me keep walking. When I see something I know is not good for me to eat. I ask Him to help me and He does.
11 lbs later... I'm thankful and ready to go the next 10!!
