My name is Patricia, I am 38 years old and I have struggled with being overweight my entire life. I am happily married to my husband for 12 years (and we have been together for 16).

I am a Realtor and have been in the real estate and real estate related fields for the past 20 years. I have been blessed with the opportunity to have my husband join me in selling real estate and we have been working together as a real estate team for the last 3 years.

Family is very important to me. I put other needs before my own. My husband and I take care of his mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease (his father passed away from Alzheimer’s almost 10 years ago). Seeing both his mom, and my parents have various health issues over the last several years has made me stop and look at myself. I do not like what I see. I realize I need to make myself a priority. I need to take care of me. I want to stop the insanity and be the change. I don’t want to have “family history” dictate how my life will turn out. I willto take control of my life and be the first to prove to myself and my family that it is possible to be happy and healthy, and live a life without obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure and all the other various ailments that are in the family. I want to lead by example and inspire others to take control of their lives too.
