Louisville, KY Hello there and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page. My name is Patrick and I am thrilled to be a member of Team Beachbody! My name is Patrick and I am thrilled to be a member of Team Beachbody! I sometimes send out buddy requests because I like to find folks in WOWY to connect with and support as we all strive to improve our health and fitness levels. Like many of you I have bounced up and down with my weight and size over the years but certainly bounced UP a lot more than I bounced down. I first joined the Beachbody family in 2010 and made tremendous gains at that time. It all started when I decided I had watched the Insanity infomercial a few too many times and I finally made the choice to call and purchase the program. It arrived the next week while I was on vacation and I fell in love. Well, I probably fell in hate at first because Shaun T was kicking my butt all over my living room but as my fitness level grew my frown turned to a grin and I began to love working out again. My motivation at the time was to prepare for my 25th High School Reunion that fall. My transformation was a success but it was not to last. As I began another round of Insanity and was adding P90X I began to suffer some abdominal pains and my father became ill and I had to help my mother take him to the hospital. Well my abdominal pains turned into a failed gall bladder which eventually had to be surgically removed. On top of that my father’s illness began a rapidly downward spiral for him and we eventually had to put him in a home and he ultimately passed away within 18 months. Throughout all of this I would try to get started again but always fail and could not fathom why I could not duplicate my previous success. The bottom line though was that I found a way to use any, and every, excuse that I could to prevent me from getting back in the saddle and continuing on my journey towards fitness and health. Fast forward a couple of years and I put back a lot of the weight that I had previously lost and my health/fitness had gone south again. After years of battling back and forth with the issue and frequent testing with my doctor I was placed on medication for high cholesterol. I sat myself down and took inventory on what was right and what was wrong about my goals, my approach and most importantly…my reasons! What I found was that my goals were good, which was to become healthier and improve my fitness. My approach was good in the fitness plans I chose however I never grasped the importance of nutrition and therefore I was unable to master the concept of how to properly fuel my engine. Lastly I found that it was my reasons that probably derailed me more than anything. I realigned myself and my goal now has nothing to do with anything short term like a reunion, an event or pool/beach season (while those may be great motivators to help someone get moving). No, my goal now is to first, improve my health & fitness level so that I am here for the long haul for my daughter and second, to be a better example to others because one of my ultimate goals is to become a certified personal trainer. So early in 2012 I saw my Coach, June, post on Facebook about the Ultimate Reset and I had to send her a message to find out what this was all about. I also did the usual Google and YouTube search to find out more and see other individual’s reactions/opinions/results of the program. Let me just say that WOW, am I sure glad I did.
I started the Ultimate Reset on April 30 and finished yesterday, May 19. During the Reset my total cholesterol went from 208 (target is to be below 200) to 140...that's right, it decreased an amazing 68 points. My LDL, which is supposed to be below 100 was 152 when I started and it was so low when I finished that it could not be registered. My HDL went from 24 to 32. Still have more work to go with that but anticipate my Insanity and P90X work will correct that. My Triglycerides, which are supposed to be less than 150, went from 157 to less than 45 post Reset. My weight went from 222.2 to 200.6 for a total weight loss of 21.6 pounds.
I was very strict to the plan and did not cheat any. Everyone keeps asking me if I am going to gorge on some pizza or burgers today and I tell them no way. In fact after seeing these results I do not want to blow all this hard work. I have incorporated meat back into my diet but I plan on incorporating a lot more whole foods into my meal planning and will simply limit the intake of meats and dairy products. I am going to continue eliminating caffeine from my normal intake... The week after I finished the Reset I alternated Yoga X and Ab Ripper X to ease back into working out. Then I started Insanity and am going full blast. I have one more week to go on Insanity and am down to 189 pounds which is back to my weight levels from the late 80's...wahoo!!!
I am always looking for new buddies to interact with, support and join in WOWY whether I am your coach or not so let me know if you would like to connect. I highly recommend you reach out to any of our fellow Beachbody members because this is truly a community of individuals that are interested in the success of everyone else! Good luck in YOUR journey! Sincerely, Patrick

I made great changes to my life/health in 2010 only to blow it all in 2011. I let an ailing parent, who later passed away, and a physical condition (had my gall bladder removed) be used as an excuse to not continue working out. As a result, I am now close to where I was when I started in 2010. Well that changes TODAY (1/4/12).
I started the Ultimate Reset on April 30 and finished yesterday, May 19. I had my cholesterol checked the day before I started and my total cholesterol was 208 (target is to be below 200). I had my cholesterol checked again on May 20 and my total cholesterol is now 140...that's right, it decreased an amazing 68 points. They were astonished reading my results.
My LDL, which is supposed to be below 100 was 152 when I started and it was so low when I finished that it could not be registered. My HDL which is supposed to be over 40 was 24 when I started and 32 after. While still not where it should be I have not been working out and that should increase when I start working out now. I will be checking this again after I complete Insanity. My Triglycerides which are supposed to be less than 150 was 157 when I started and they were less than 45 post Reset.
Now to my weight. When I started I weighed 222.2 and on May 20 I weighed 200.6 for a total weight loss of 21.6 pounds...freaking amazing.
The week after I finished the Reset I alternated Yoga X and Ab Ripper X to ease back into working out. Then I started Insanity and am going full blast. I just finished week 3 of Insanity and am down to 191 pounds.
If you would like to join me in working out then look for me in WOWY and send me a buddy request. If you would like to connect on facebook send me a message here so we can connect.
I welcome any encouragement from you as I make my way through my journey and I want to work with you to encourage YOU on your fitness goals as well.
See you (virtually anyway) in the the gym.
Patrick
