Here's a little bit about me:
My name is Teresa and I am a Beachbody believer. I'm 37 and a licensed Physical Therapist. I spend my days working at a hospital treating many folks who are sick mostly because they don't take care of themselves. They are overweight and subsequently have many, often critical, ailments because they are obese. Talk about motivation to keep yourself in shape! I found Beachbody about 6 yrs ago and have been kicking butt to Beachbody videos ever since. I'm married to a very hard-working cop and mother to two four-legged fuzzy babies, our dogs, Arci and Murphy.
Besides working out, I love to travel, read, scrapbook, and spend time with my hubby and friends.

I have never been an athlete. To be truthful, I have never liked exercise. Hated it actually. I always felt it was too hard and not very much fun. Plus, I have never been motivated to exercise as I have never really been overweight. I was in a relatively good weight range and pretty much ate what I wanted without much consequences, so why exercise? Ironically, I am a Physical Therapist and spend my days making OTHER people exercise. (Crazy huh?)
When I graduated PT School, I promised myself I would join a gym and get into shape -after all, I was a physical therapist and should set an example for my patients, not to mention I could no longer use the excuse of being a "poor college student" who didn't have the money for a gym membership. Being a gym member worked out for a while, but I found myself making excuses not to go. "It's too cold... it's raining... I worked late today... I'm tired...there's a good TV show on tonight..." You name it, I had an excuse. So I found myself falling into a pattern of working out diligently for 3-4 months, then "falling off the wagon" and being a couch potato for 4-5 months, then lacing up the sneakers and trying again.
Then when I was about 32 yrs old, I went to my doctor and found not only my Cholesterol to be high (230), but my blood pressure too (150s/90s) -even though I wasn't overweight (I was about 145 lbs at the time and I'm 5'7"). My wake up call was my doctor putting me on a diet and on blood pressure medication. So I endeavored to try to eat better and exercise more to get my health under control.
Then I saw a commercial for Turbo Jam. I thought to myself, "this actually looks like fun!" So I bought it. I tried it...and I was hooked! The music was great, the moves were fun and I wanted more. Plus, I had no excuses...my gym was right there in my home. I didn't have to go anywhere. I didn't need equipment. I could work out whenever I wanted to. I just needed to "push play."
Now here I am 3 yrs later somewhat of an exercise junkie: I exercise on average about 5 days/wk and own just about every Beachbody product there is: everything Turbo Jam, Power 90 Master Series, Power Half Hour, The Slim Series, Power 90X, Hip Hop Abs, Yoga Booty Ballet, 10 min Trainer and Slim Express. I'm off the blood pressure meds (my BP is down to 110s/60s), my cholesterol is significantly lower (144) and my weight has stabilized at around 136 lbs. So here I am...self proclaimed exercise junkie. I no longer struggle to "push play" and I am addicted to my new sculpted muscles and the comments I get from other people.
People stop me and tell me I look great, or ask me what I do to keep in such good shape. The most fun though is when I make a muscle and show off my biceps and people's eyes POP out! "Holy Cow! Look at those guns!" The truly best part is when my husband I go out and he will whisper in my ear "you are the most beautiful girl in the room and hands down have the best body here." If that's not a reason to "just push play"...I don't know what is.
