I'm the proud father of a 10 year old girl and 5 year old son whose decided if I plan to be around for the long haul, I need to make the necessary changes to ensure I; (i) can enjoy my time with the kids at this age as they learn various sports or simply act like kids, (ii) make more time to enjoy my life in general and; (iii) maximize my chances for being around for grandchildren.

The grandparents showed up this weekend and it knocked me off track, or should I say it allowed me to go off track. As a result, I am restarting week 2 today with Core synergistics. I got through most of the weeks routines but 4 routines is not 6 and 6 routines make a full week not 4. Not a problem though as I am fully into this and enjoying it. My gut is still getting in the way so I am not yet doing the Dreya Rolls but I will be there eventually!

Wow, that Yoga X kicks my butt. Who could've imagined that Yoga X would be the toughest of all the routines. It's so methodical and in fact looks "soft" or "easy". let me tell you. It is the most difficult of them all. It may be due to my large gut (no doubt) but I will succeed regardless. I actually got through the entire "movement" section of the routine without stopping. I am slow to move because of the gut, but I am able to continue with the trainers and that probably is the most encouraging factor when doing the routine. No matter, I am focused and bringing it. My goal is straight ahead and nothing will stop me!

Week one is complete! I finished the week as enthusiastically as I started it. I weighed in for the week and came in at 285.25lbs for a loss of 8.75lbs in the first week! I know this rate of loss won't continue, but it's definitely a good motivator for continued work. Week 2 coming up.

Wow, week one has been an intense beginning to my transformation. As difficult as it may have been, it was far more fun and I used it more as a measuring stick for how much more I need to do. Aside from the Yoga X, I was able to do the full workout for each of the first 5. I have decided, after the stiffness in my right knee from the Yoga, to put the rest day in front of my legs and back workout which will now take place on Sunday. All things are off to a great start!
