I was an athlete, construction worker and moved refrigerators by myself. Then I had a serious vehicle accident that left me very, very damaged... It's been 7 years now and I am trying to get into some shape besides slouch. I joined a gym and moved to a warmer climent in order to help motivate me to get out, instead of getting warm. I am now trying so break free from the expense and health risk of so many meds. and excercise is quite helpful although; very painful. I am looking forward to adding flexibility and tone as well as endurance to my life.... my mind and body willing. Well, so far my efforts are paying off, but not being able to stick to a schedule do to excessive pain or exhaustion and most of the time both; my progress is limited... albiet enjoyable.

Well, my cholesterol was at 435! so, I started by focusing on lowering my cholesterol. Bran cereal, veggie's, fruits and attitude.... not to stop working hard even though working hard was the hardest way to go. I continued forcing myself to work and have to still force myself to work and can only do so part-time, but I refuse give up although I need to lay down or just to sit idle a great deal of the time. I have 2 dogs and have to take care of them, and a yard that needs mowed, and vacuum to run. These things eat my energy and cause great pain, but help my self-esteem so I forge on. I lost 20# over 6 months but I was looking a bit heavy still and flabby. I arranged to join a gym and started a regiment to burn fat and excercise 3 x's a week for an hour which was way too much. Then I changed it to 2 x's a week w/weight training. I feel so much better that I did but still feel unsatisfied because I know what I used to be able to do. So, I have been learning to not worry or care about "What I used to be able to do"... after all, that's all in retrospect isn't it? Before my MVA I used to work 15 hrs. a day. So by compairing after my accident, but before moving to a warmer climent, I used to be able to get out of bed! Now, I am working out at a gym 2 hrs a week and working 15-25 hrs a week! And I've lost another 10# since joining the gym. Yea, I've lost tons of inches and gained some muscle and still lost. Now I am looking for more motivation and I saw Turbo Jam because a friend shared it with me. I am placing my order tonight after I figure out how to do it. LoL
