Hi There! My name is Wayne, and I work and live in Tampa, Florida. I've been married now for 20 years (as of July!), and have four outstanding 11 year olds - yes quadruplets! Never a dull moment in our house, let me tell you.

My name is Wayne, and I work and live in Tampa, Florida. I've been married now for 20 years (as of July!), and have four outstanding 11 year olds - yes quadruplets! Never a dull moment in our house, let me tell you.
From high school & college ROTC, through time in the Army, I've always been active and in shape. When I left the Army I took some time off, and after a 10 year pause peppered with occasional one year gym stints along the way, I started jogging and began Taekwondo classes (at 38!!!). I told myself I was doing it to be with the kids, as we signed them all up for the same classes.
Now I'm 43, a senior brown belt, and I am still 20 pounds overweight - mind you, it's because two years ago I quit a 22yr habit of using tobacco (yay me!), but gained 30 pounds in the first three months, and lost maybe 5 since. A year with a personal trainer did NOTHING for my waist, my abs, but did help with some upper body - enough to where I was able to pass the P90X fitness test (ok, I failed pull-ups), and begin the program on 8/24/09.
Just starting P90X; While I realized (after purchase) I can't afford the official gear for the program (wife laid-off this month), I'm improvising with borrowed bands and a couple of weights left over from the dinosaurs. We'll just have to do it the Dave Ramsey way, and save for each bit as we can.
Besides starting P90X, I still do Taekwondo 3x a week, and walk 5K 4 times a week @ 4mph (shin splints prevent me from actually running - anyone want to tell me how to make them go bye-bye?).
My wife would like to do something too (a friend just gave her the 10-minute trainer), but she feels having a body ravaged by quadruplets (the abdominal after-affects specific to having multiples, not just the lingering 25lbs) is too much to reverse, and the time it takes to raise them/feed them/etc. would preclude executing any developed strategy. If you're a quad mom that broke through this personal barrier, it'd be great to hear from you.
Take Care - Here I Go!
