Buddy invitations from random coaches who I don't know are not welcome; take the time to say "hi, how are you" to me somewhere before expecting me to be your buddy.

Blah. Not much to say :o Ever since we moved to Virginia when I was a munchkin, I haven't been very active - over time, I gained weight. At my highest (Spring 2011) I weighed 220lbs, brought it down to 200lbs

Transformation story

The basics of my bio are up above in the "about me!" area. I've done two half-rounds of P90X (I kind of got bored halfway through both times D:) and one full round of turbofire.

The basics of my bio are up above in the "about me!" area. I've done two half-rounds of P90X (I kind of got bored halfway through both times D:) and one full round of turbofire.

But that's not the important part.

I've always been a rather sedentary creature, chilling at my computer, killing zombies on WoW [World of Warcraft], among other creatures. I've never been good at running. I've never been able to do a push-up with good form (even on my knees). I've never been able to climb a set of stairs without puffing at the top. I've never worn clothes in the single digits.

Now (Summer 2013), two years after beginning, I have accomplished all of those things. I've discovered about myself something that should have always been obvious: I'm a fairly competitive creature, and athletic to boot. Even 30 lbs overweight, it's become pretty obvious that if I engaged in some sort of sport - I'd shine.

In the past two years, I've gained confidence in myself. That's something that I've never had. I used to actually avoid looking at myself in mirrors, because I hated what I saw: flaws, fat, and more flaws. Now I look in mirrors and, even though I still have ways to go, I can point out things that I love: look! I have a waist! Look! I HAVE TRICEPS OOOOH! Look! If I turn to the side, my stomach isn't distended! Oooh. Look! If I wear shorts (And I mean SHORTS), I don't get chub rub!

... That one's my favorite.

Anyways, you get the idea. For me now, it's less about losing weight, and more about becoming comfortable in my own skin. It's about having a body that identifies with my recently-discovered athletic personality. It's about loving me for me, and looking at myself in the mirror and not cringing, and about not being embarassed to be who I am.

TL;DR: EVER SINCE I STARTED WORKING OUT, EMMA = HAPPY. ER. THAN BEFORE. YOU SHOULD WORK OUT TOO. And skip the third slice of pizza.
