In September of 2010, I stepped on the scale to see a weight of 313 pounds. 313 pounds?!?!?! I decided then and there that I had to do SOMETHING.

In September of 2010, I stepped on the scale to see a weight of 313 pounds. 313 pounds?!?!?! I decided then and there that I had to do SOMETHING.

I started by going to the gym every morning. I would walk on the treadmill for an hour, then cycle through the Nautilus machines. I did this 6 days a week, religiously.

At the same time, I changed my diet. I gave up soda. I started eating more fruits and vegetables. I looked at ways to cut my calories.
By the end of March 2011, I weighed 245 pounds!

After that, it was up and down. Up to 261, down to 251. Back up to 254, down to 247. The weight fluctuations were directly related to my commitment to clean eating and consistent exercise.

It's a lifestyle commitment, not just a weight loss program. That sounds easy and logical, but in practice it is much more difficult. The way we look factors into how we feel about ourselves, how others perceive us, and our physical health.

I am currently doing Les Mills Pump (and weigh 235!) I have lost a total of 78 pounds and 51 inches since September 2010.

My current goals are less weight-related and more fitness-related. I took part in my first 5K in November 2012. I am currently training for Rugged Maniac in April and ultimately for Tough Mudder 2013 in Charlotte, NC.
