Englewood, CO I'm 41 years old and just recently married. My wife loves to hike and climb mountains which is great for me as each day that I work out, I get better and better at what used to be strenuous outdoor activities.

When I was a teenager, I was a skinny little reed. I always had the desire to be a strong athletic person; however nothing I did seemed to bring me closer to that goal. The reality was that I didn't know how and was too shy to ask for help.
Over the years, the pounds began to add up. Since they arrived on their own without my intentional invitation, they were the soft pounds, not the nicely ripped kind that everyone wants.
Before starting P90X, I was about 30 lbs overweight. I was very much looking forward to getting that chiseled awesome body that I wanted as a kid but didn't know how to get.
Most of my career, in the IT field, has been spent working overseas -- in such places as Antarctica and Kazakhstan. I love both places and the people there. Unfortunately, both travel and IT work tend to involve being sedentary.
I am making a conscious effort to modify my life so that I am much healthier, happier, and energetic. P90X is the first leg of this journey and it's a great one!

I'm starting P90X in what I consider to be rather poor shape (June 6, 2007) -- although I passed the fit test. I don't look all that bad compared to the average American; however the first workout reminded me that our standards of size have 'enlaged' over the years.
I changed my diet immediately upon receiving the program materials. Throughout my life food has always been provided to me through cafeterias, restaurants, or loving and well meaning family. Today, I'm the one preparing the foods for my family and we love it! They are amazed at the tasty variety of the menus and I love the impact they've had on me both physically and mentally.
As of day 30, I feel more energetic, tighter, and my attitude has improved significantly. I can tell that my posture has improved, and as I'm ten pounds lighter, I've had to pull my belt in an additional notch! WooHoo!
I continue my workouts knowing that I'm sharing the experience with so many others in the WOWY program. Every day these fine folks help me to Bring It and I know that my efforts also help them. I can't wait to post my 90 day AFTER picture so that I can return some of that motivational energy to the group!
As of day 60, I can really feel a difference between what I was before and what I am now. In most cases, I can keep up with Tony and the kids, although there are still a few areas where it's very challenging. I love that! It means I've made a lot of progress and I've still got a goal to help motivate me.
Speaking of goals, my original goal was to drop my weight from 195 to 170. I'm currently 174! Only 4 more pounds to go, and 30 more days. I'm willing to bet that I'll exceed that goal and be much better for it.
During this last 30 day stage, I began meeting and working out with my Success Buddies. It amazes me how fun and motivating it is to know that others are working out with me at the same time, all over the country.
My goals for the third phase are to reach my target weight of 170 (bonus when I hit 165!) and get rid of this last bit of belly fat that's hanging on for dear life. It knows its days are numbered!
During this last 30 days my schedule has changed dramatically and I found it more challenging to keep my regular workout schedule. Sometimes I had to skip the morning workout and do it in the evening. Additionally, as I have been travelling much more, I've not been able to prepare my own meals. The result is that although I did reach my goal of 170 lbs, (Whoo Hoo!!) I wasn't able to reach the bonus of 165. I've not felt this good in years!
--- After a few years of globetrotting, sporadic rather than regular workouts, and a number of life changes (moving, changing jobs, and getting married) I'm starting another round of P90X!! I've found that although my weight is about the same (175lbs) that my body composition has changed perceptibly. In some cases I can really Bring It! and in others I'm just wiped out. I'm very happy that I've retained some capability and those few losses give me a great set of goals to work toward. My overall weight goal is still 165; however the more important goal for me is body composition. It's time to build muscle and burn the fat!
