I am 44 and the mother of a very active 8 year old son. I am a Certified Financial Planner and due the financial crisis I found myself unemployed. I decided this was the perfect opportunity to get back in shape and focus on positive changes in my life. That meant is was time for Tony Horton.

I was a Power 90 graduate in 2003 and had great results, but I wanted a new challenge so I turned to

I was never a big fitness fanatic growing up. I never
played sports, because I wasn’t that good at them. After
college, I got into weight training and aerobics and had
really improved my overall fitness and had noticeable
improvement in my weight management and shape. I always
tried to maintain my workouts, but it was sometime difficult
working 65-70 hours per week. My weight would fluctuate
with my fitness routines, or lack there of. I was never
really thin, never really heavy, but I was in decent shape.

That was until age and pregnancy took its toll on my body.
I was 36 when I got pregnant. I tried to stay active and
work out. I knew how important it would be. But the weight
went on quickly, and it made normal tasks difficult, let
alone physical fitness. I stopped looking at the scale when
I hit 190 pounds- it was way too much for my 5’4” frame. I
outgrew all on my maternity clothes. My son weighed almost
10 pounds (9 lbs, 14 oz.) and I had to have a c-section.
The recovery was difficult. I use to pride myself on how
many sit-ups I could do and after that I couldn’t do any.
In April 2001, I came home from the hospital weighing 172
pounds. I had to wear my maternity clothes, because nothing
else fit.

I tried to watch my diet and lost some weight, but I never
got back to where I was. In 2002 I joined the local gym and
decided to hire a personal trainer. I saw some improvement,
but I really wasn’t happy with the results. It was
expensive and inconvenient. I didn’t like working around
someone else’s schedule. So I tried doing it on my own, but
I just couldn’t get the weight off.

One night I couldn’t sleep and was channel surfing when I
came across an infomercial for Power 90. The results looked
amazing and I figure why not- it’s cheaper than my health
club membership and that’s not getting me where I want to be
anyway. So I ordered the program and was eager to start.

I started at 155 pounds and so out of shape I couldn’t
believe it. The first week was killer. I couldn’t do a
push up on my knees, let along in the standard position. I
could hardly do the jumping jacks and the cardio kicked my
butt. But I kept my chart on my bathroom mirror and
everyday I marked my progress. I loved Tony’s personality;
he made the work-outs fun and he was so encouraging-just
keep pushing play, do your best and forget the rest. I could
see improvements quickly; I could make it through cardio, I
could complete push-ups (on my knees), and chair dips. By
day 60 I started adding Power Half Hour workouts to my
routine. I felt great, and I was ecstatic with my results.
I had dropped three sizes and 21 pounds in 90 days. I was
about to turn 40 and was in great shape.

After completing the program I was enthusiastic to continue
my fitness journey. I was excited when Tony introduced
P90X, I bought one of the first copies- it was even
autographed. But midway through the program I developed a
knee injury. I had sprained my tendon, and it became
difficult to walk. I went to an orthopedic doctor and he
told me I had to take it easy for the next several months. I
took some time off and tried to get back into the routine,
but every time I would push it, the pain would come back.
Slowly the weight crept back on.

I knew I needed to get back into shape and tried many
programs. I learned that if I wore knee brace I could make
it through most workouts without much pain. I tried The
Firm, Body for Life and Billy’s Boot Camp. I either didn’t
get the results I wanted or I got bored with the programs.

By January of 2008 my body was falling apart. My weight had
climbed to 162 pounds and I was getting massive headaches.
I had issues with my knee, my wrist, my neck and, my
shoulder. I would wake up with joint pain that was so severe
that I could hardly move. I knew I needed to make changes in
my life. I started seeing a chiropractor and a massage
therapist and took some lessons with fitness trainer to find
ways to work around my injuries.

Next I joined Weight Watchers. I lost some weight, but I
wasn’t happy with my body. I knew I needed to get on a
program that would help me gain muscle and burn off the fat.
There was only one person that ever helped me get the
results I wanted, and that was Tony Horton. I made my New
Year’s resolution to complete P90X.

The journey through P90X has had a few bumps along the way.
I started having pain in my knee again and needed to take it
easy for a few weeks. I realized that as I lost weight, my
knee brace become too small and needed to be replaced. But
I got back on the program and I am so happy that I did.

My pains have all gone away. I went back to the massage
therapist and she told me to keep doping whatever I’m doing
because my body felt great. Friends have told me I look 10
years younger. My mom tells me that I look the best I have
since I got married 17 years ago and my husband tells me I
look hot.

I lost 12 pounds through my first P90X cycle- but it was all
fat, and my lean weight increased. I’m only three pounds
lighter than my lowest point through Weight Watchers, but my
clothes are 2-3 sizes smaller. I lost over 4 inches on my
waist, 3 on my hips, and an inch off each thigh.

The best thing Tony has giving me is the ability to live a
better life. I can play ball and hockey with my son. At 62
pounds, I can pick him up and carry him around with ease.
When I started Power 90 I couldn’t do a regular push-up, my
last work out I did 175 and none of them were on my knees. I
will turn 45 this year and I am in the best shape of my
life. These programs are incredible. I am so glad I found
Tony Horton.

I realized that I get so excited when I talk about Tony and
P90X that I had to become a coach and share it with other
people. The improvements in your life are amazing. It’s
about feeling good, having energy to live life to the
fullest and accomplishing things you didn’t think were
possible. BeachBody.com has the ability to change the world,
one couch potato at a time.
