I'm 27 years old. I have lived in california my whole life. I am the youngest of three siblings. I have been known as "the shy one" in my family. I am tring hard to break that title. my most important goal in life is to live to the fullest and to never become the depressed, sad person I was for so long.

I have struggled with a weight problem for my whole life. Doctors have always told me I needed to loose weight. Of course I never listened to their advice. I just always left the doctors office More ...
I have struggled with a weight problem for my whole life. Doctors have always told me I needed to loose weight. Of course I never listened to their advice. I just always left the doctors office feeling more depressed then I was before. I used so many excuses for why I couldn't possibly loose weight. I told myself I was ment to be overweight because it was in my genes. I told myself that I would never be strong enough to exercise because of my disability.and so on and so on. In high school I went on the no carb diet. I lost 30 pounds on that diet. As soon as I got off the diet I gained the weight back and then some, in half the time that I lost the weight. The result,years of depression and gaining even more weight.Pretty soon I stopped weighing myself. I began to not care anymore about life or myself. I just went through the days just trying to survive. In 2003 at a doctors visit I discovered a horrible reality. I was now 230 pounds. That was the most I ever weighed. I also had high blood pressure. since I was born with a disability I have weak legs. my doctor told me if I continued on the path I was on I would eventually need to use a wheelchair. That day somthing in me clicked. I didn't want to be harming myself anymore. The day was october 12,2003 when I decided to get my life back. Since that day I have lost 88 pounds. It has been a long and difficult road, but I know I am on the right path now. I still have issues with the way I look. There are some days when I want to just throw my scale out the window. But I know loosing weight is not easy. I have been doing turbo jam for about two months now. I am hoping to loose another 20 pounds. I know with hard work and commitment I can do it. If I can loose weight anyone can. I went from being a person who hated exercise to a person that exercises everyday for an hour and a half. I am now at a weight that I haven't seen in years. I feel better that ever. I have no doubt that exercise and a healthier diet have saved my life.

***UPDATE*** I have now lost 105LBS!!! 4/2/2007
