I was married for 28 years and in those 28 years I cultivated many unhealthy habits both in my diet and sedentary lifestyle that unfortunatly influenced my children as well. I was raised as a memeber of the clean your plate club, and you didn't waste the food that we worked hard for. Basically a depression era fallout mindset.
While my kids were growing up we didn't eat out too much but I cooked alot, and not in anyway that could be called a healthy manner. Greasy, fried, fatty, sickingly sweet, yep that about sums up our diet back in those days. Not too shocking I am sure, but my children and I became over weight. In fact though my kids are grown we are still struggling with these issues.
When I got divorced I weighed two hundred and sixty three pounds on a five foot three fame. I had virutally no self-confidence or sense of worth. Being on my own for the first time in my life, we (my then eighteen year old daughter who is now a Beachbody coach as well) and I decided to make some changes.
We had heard all our lives that exercise was the key. So we joined a gym, joined Jenny Craig and I ended up losing 78 pounds. But Jenny Craig was really too expensive to maintain so I went back to doing it on my own. Since then however, I have had many health problems and almost died once because of them, as you might have guessed I slipped back into some of my old habits. Though I haven't gained all the weight back I still have about forty five more pounds to go.
I know how it feels to be heavy and just heart broken because of it. To feel helpless, hopeless, and clueless how to start changing it around. Because of this background I have decided to become a beachbody coach. I am still working towards my goals but I am so proud of how far I have come!
I am launching this next phase of my life with an amazing sense of gratitude to Beachbody, with their amazing line of products that are not only transforming me day by day but also giving me the chance and the platform to share my evolving story!! I am looking forward to becoming a coach so I can help others get free of the very same baggage that has followed me most of my life. It is a very blessed life!
