Hi! I'm 41 years old, and I'm a professional musician in the NYC area, and I
can't wait to get into the best shape of my life. I'm 5'10" and 235 lbs. I
decided that I need to make a change in my habits. I was never into working
out. I used to have very physically demanding jobs that would keep me in
pretty decent shape, but now that's over and I'm beginning to get a bit heavy,
so I recently

I began P90X on June 11, 2007, with an intense desire to get myself in better
shape than I have ever been. I saw the infomercial early one morning, and it
made sense to me. Much more so than those "pop these pills and sit in front
of the tv and watch the fat just melt away" programs. I know that hard work is
the key, but I wasn't sure where to start. Going to the gym is intimidating. I
wouldn't know where to start. I needed a program that would step me
through the ins and outs of getting into shape.
In the past I had some pretty physically demanding work that kept me at
least in fair condition. I wouldn't work out or excercise on my own, so when
those jobs dried out, I gained alot of weight. My girlfriend kept asking me to
go to the gym with her, or to yoga, but to no avail. Then people would start
making wisecracks about my weight gain. I saw myself on video and in
photos, and what I saw really frightened me. I was getting out of control. I
had to do something.
I am 41 years old. My father died when he was 54 from a heart attack. I need
to make a change! No way am I going to let this happen to me!
About a month before I started P90X, I started running. I hadn't run since I
was in the Marine Corps almost 20 years ago. It was very hard at first. I never
enjoyed running, but I made a determination to try. In a couple of weeks I
was running better. Then I got a stress fracture. I pushed myself too hard
without really knowing what I was doing.
I saw the infomercial and decided to put my trust in the program. I ordered it
and went to the website to see what more I could find out about P90X. I
realized that I may have gotten myself in too deep! This was going to be
HARD!!
I ordered the pull-up bar, resistance bands, recovery drink, whey protein,
and vitamins. I couldn't wait for the dvd's to arrive!! I did the fitness test and
aside from the pull-ups I did fairly well. I am ready to BRING IT!!
Day 1 began and was I in for the ride of my life!! I have never been so sore in
my whole life!! I was in heaven! Some of the routines were over my head at
first, but I kept with it, keeping track of my progress, pushing play every day.
I have been careful about what I eat. My diet has changed so much! My
cravings for food have changed from lots of processing to much healthier
food. No more soda for me! And I don't even miss it!!
Here I am at the thirty day mark, and I am no longer getting the wisecracks!
Instead, people are noticing that I am thinner, my posture is better, I feel like
I grew a few inches taller, and I am alot less stressed since I began this
program. My girlfriend is very happy and proud of me!! I am also proud of
me!! I still have a long way to go though. This is only the beginning!
My life has been changed by P90X!! Thank you all so much!!
