NOW a little about me ;).. I'm a 29 well almost 30 year old wife and mom of 3.. I LOVE my family, I love to build muscle and burn fat, and I LOVE to help others!!! ;)
I have devoted my life to taking care of my family, making sure their every need is met. In doing this I put myself on the back burner as I know a lot of mom's and dad's do. I thought this made me the best parent I could be!! But, found myself slowly losing energy and desire to leave the house, and as cheesy as it sound's after watching Oprah one day I decided that all that had to change. I need to love me and take care of me, the same way I do my husband and children and although it is still a daily struggle I can tell you I now have more energy and desire to leave the house and take care of ME!! I am by far done with my "LIFE STYLE CHANGE" but I am pushing forward everyday.. Does this mean my family suffers why I take care of me?? NO, it just means I found a happy balance. My kids and husband still get the same attention as they always have but now I make sure I take the time for me as well.
I know as a busy mom of 3, it's hard to find that time in between dinner, house work, kids activities, school, fundraiser, band, sports, and making time for you and your spouse that sometimes the last thing you want to do is workout. But I am here to tell you when you do make that time (whether it be 15 min or 1 hour) you feel good.. REAL GOOD and after your family begins to see the change in your energy and how you feel they actually encourage you to workout when you don't even want to..
I must admit it was hard at first kids running in and out while I'm trying to workout and them interrupting me "MOM, brother won't leave me alone", "MOM, I want cereal".... But I had to keep going and tell them this is "MY" hour you can join in the exercise or you can find something in the house to sit quietly and do, that's that!!.. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't (sigh) but I made it a promise to myself I would finish ANYTHING I started..
Like I said before I still have a way's to go but I am committed to be fit from here on out.. I hope that every mom, dad, sister, brother, and anyone that says I just don't have the time GET'S UP AND DECIDES TO MAKE THE TIME!! BE CONSISTENT!! Whether your suppose to walk 15 min a day or run 2 miles, DO IT! If you miss a day DON'T throw in the towel get right back in it and keep going.. Remember it's not only exercise it is your eating habit's as well. A lot of eating right is pure common sense we know sitting around and eating a bag of chips is not good for us.. I also know that sometimes eliminating the junk slowly works better for ME.. One week I gave up chips, the next week was sugar..So on and so forth..Does that mean I don't ever have something sweet?? I would love to say YES but that is NOT true... I do have a treat every now and then I just don't keep ANY in my house! If I want it I can go get me something special but for me if I have sweets in the house I would eat them even when I didn't want them just because it was in my house.. IMAGINE THAT!! =)
Simple steps go along way!!! I'm here to tell you if I can do it anyone can.. I've never been the athletic type but found myself at 29 joining a softball team just because I FEEL GOOD!! That's an improvement I am thankful for, I use to feel 59 now I feel 39 still got a little ways to go but am thankful how far I've come. I would like to feel 20 again or at least in my early 20s.. ;)
If your reading this it's because you have already made a change or are looking to make a change..... IF YOU HAVE MADE THE CHANGE I APPLAUD YOU AND ENCOURAGE YOU TO KEEP IT GOING AND IF YOUR THINKING ABOUT IT, DO IT!!!
You'll be glad you did!! It's never to late to start.. So start now to a better, sexier, and healthier you.
