Bradenton, FL Hello, my name is Manny T.
I have been exercising or involved in some type of physical activity since I was a kid. I played baseball, basketball and soccer, but soccer was my best sport. So, at about the age of 13, I started to play competitively. For the next 6 years a soccer was a year round sport.
Since then, I have been a gym rat, a couch potato and everything in between.
In my early Hello, my name is Manny T.
In my early 30s I tackled Body for Life. Unfortunately, even though I had great results, it ended up being a body for 16 weeks, as I could not stick with the program.
After watching a number of P90X infomercials, I decided to tackle the program in late 2007 (right during the holidays!). I achieved incredible results (lost 16 lb) and honestly felt like I was in the best shape of my life. I was so inspired by my accomplishment that I decided to join a local coed soccer league. Week 1 Game 1, after stepping into a couple of mole holes, I planted my foot and POP! I tore all the tendons in my ankle and my return to soccer was over. Worse was that the recovery was a 6 month ordeal. All the progress was gone by the time my ankle was strong enough to workout again. Even though I had achieved amazing things with P90X, I could not get motivated to do it again. Instead I started to hit the gym. 6 days a week, strength training and cardio. Much to my dismay, after a year I was not seeing the results I wanted.
I had seen the Insanity infomercials, but cardio is really not my thing. I mean, P90X plyometrics was the toughest cardio I had ever done, and Insanity looked harder. After deliberating for a few months, and seeing an non flattering picture of myself on Facebook, I decided to take the Insanity challenge.
It was one of the better decisions of my life!
Due to work and travel, Round 1 was longer than the advertised 63 days, as I did Month 1 for 6 weeks, but the results were awesome. I lost 14 lbs and have a core stronger than ever before!
Needing to stay motivated, and repeating the whole program again was not appealing, I created a hybrid of P90X and Insanity that I started on August 2nd. It has been a work in progress as I continue to push myself to dig deeper!
