I run on the roads, on trails, up mountains, and on snowshoes. I completed P90X Classic earlier this year as a cross-training program for running alongside my regular training runs, and I am one week away from finishing the second month of P90X+.

I have recently started a thread on the message boards where runners who like trail, mountain, and/or snowshoe running can bounce ideas off one another

I am using P90X to improve my overall strength and core muscles to benefit my running. Using P90X Classic as a cross-training program for running alongside my regular training runs boosted my performance in snowshoe racing last winter (2010 - 2011) by a significant amount, and the weekly improvements at the races continued all season. I completed my first round of P90X early this year and am thrilled with where this added fitness has taken my snowshoe racing. Over the summer (2011), I did a drawn out version of P90X+ at the same time I was competing in an annual mountain racing series and noticed even stronger improvements than during the snowshoe series, finishing some races 6-7 minutes faster per mile than the previous year at base to summit events. I am very excited to see how the final weeks of P90X+ will help my continued training and look forward to P90X2 when it arrives.
