I met my husband 14 years ago when I was 32 and was in my best shape ever...a LOOSE size 3/4 and about 128 pounds. I tended to average between that and 135 for a top weight. I was a single Mom at the time and my activity level was much higher then. Once we got together, I slowed wayyyyyy down. He was into working out heavily My name is Susan and I am a 46 year old stay at home Mom and artist. He was into working out heavily every night at the gym and used to be into Martial Arts, but also happened to be a computer programmer and gamer. Needless to say, life changed...A LOT. I went from eating WHEN I wanted to, and WHAT I wanted to, IF I wanted to....to having to fix a huge "square" meal at 5 pm every night. His idea of a square meal was a large plate of 3/4 red meat (and chicken and pork, but meat nonetheless) and starches and 1/4 overcooked veggies. Blech. I had always eaten natural foods...lots of seafood, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, fresh fruits and veggies and whole grains, and only occasional dairy, breads, potatoes and meats. I also always ate late at night...and grazed through the day, not having my first food until late lunchtime or later (I know, this part wasn't the best idea). I always ate just before bed and never had any weight issues. My husband and I have always argued about this...yet I never had a weight problem....until I ate his way. He always insisted too that you should NEVER eat late because the calories would just sit there all night. Well about a year into our relationship, the weight started creeping on...FAST. I had never dieted a day in my life and wasn't going to start then either. The weight just kept piling on....even though I've tried through the years to get back to my old way of eating as much as a family life will allow. I had gotten up to 174 before getting pregnant with my son in 2001 and during pregnancy didn't get much higher than that. I did manage to get down to 156 about 5 or 6 years ago, but then went back up to 175. I've been dealing with depression and anxiety for a few years now, which doesn't help with the lack of energy and motivation. Top that off with Fibromyalgia and everything pretty much STOPS. Enough is enough. One morning I saw Tony's "10 Minute Trainer" infomercial and I ordered it (09/10/08) for my birthday. It may sound as if my husband and I might not have made it, but even though we disagree strongly about nutrition and diet, and have had our share of ups and downs, I love him more today than even fouteen years ago when we first met! He is now doing P90X and has succeeded incredibly! I never continued my 10 Minute Trainer, but I will definitely be starting back up, when my mind is in the right place. At the moment I am FINALLY eating like my old self....seeing as he is now on Tony's diet(THANK YOU TONY!!!). I don't have the "fight" that I used to. YIPPEEEEE!!! lol I know once I get feeling more in tune with my eating, the workouts will crank right up. I did do P90X two nights with hubby...did the Yoga and the Stretch...but didn't go further than that...think I had hurt my back somehow (not during those workouts), so did not push myself. We also took up motorcycle riding and let me tell you, for those who do not ride...THAT in itself is a workout! I most recently dropped down to 147, just by eating THE RIGHT WAY...but my goal is at the very least, the low 140s.... Wait until you see my husband Michael's transformation, it is AMAZING!
