I am a 36yrs old, father of two awesome kids ages 2 and 5, and married to the love of my life for the past 9 years. I work in the dental field and love travel as much as I can. I am excited about starting my journal with P90X which I plan on starting on April 1st, no fooling.

I am a Registered Dental Hygienist for the past 12 years which basically consist of sitting on my bum 10hrs a day, bent over, twisted, lifting a maximum weight of a few ounces of dental instruments. Obviously not the ideal fitness job. Working out and getting fit again like I was in High School has always been on the back of my mind, unfortunately it has stayed there for the past 18 years. I got a wake up call last month at a routine physical where I was told I have High Blood Pressure (140/95), High cholesterol (235), and High Triglycerides (511!!!). This is on top of running out of breathe climbing only 2 flights of stairs. I suffer from constant back pain, muscle aches, and joint pain most likely from the field I work in. I figure at 36 with this many problems, I definately need to change my lifestyle and fitness if I want to watch my kids grow up. Oh did I mention I also have smoke a half a pack of cigarettes for the past 16yrs. I know, I know me bad. A couple of weeks ago I ordered P90X and have bought all the necessary equipment for my journey to not only transform my body but my life as well.
Well my 90 day journey ended on June 30th and boy what a ride. I had to deal with a sprain wrist and gimpy ankles which meant some modifications to some of the workouts and a bad sinus infection during phase II of P90X. With my wife who lost 20lbs in her own way by going to the gym after work I sometimes didn't start my workout till 8:30-9:00pm since I had kid duty and sometimes question myself if I want to do it since I wake up at 4:30am for work. In all though I did accomplished many of my personal goals such as dropping at least 30lbs, trimming my belly which was 39 1/2 inches to 32, and waistline from 35 inches to 31. My biggest accomplishment was met after phase II when I had my blood work done again and through diet and exercise my cholesterol drop from 238 to 178, triglycerides from 511 to 65, and my blood pressure drop on the average of 30 points from 140/95 to 110/65. I don't consider myself modest but I have a hard time now not posing in front of my bathroom mirror admiring the transformation my body had just gone through. I would have never thought a infomercial would have changed my life so drastically so I owe my thanks to Tony Horton and Beachbody and to all my new thread buddies on XROX.
