I'm currently 41, turning 42 in the fall. I'm married with three children: 20,
17, 11. I work full time as a secretary and strive to not have the "secretary
spread". I love just spending time with my family.

Since I've gotten serious about fitness with Beachbody, I can now run 4 miles
on the treadmill without stopping -something I couldn't do 10 years ago!

My story is not an unusual one. I'm a 41 year old mom that works full time
and whose weight has fluctuated up and down over the years. My first big
battle with weight was after the birth of my first child. I was 21 and had
gained 70 pounds during pregnancy on top of gaining about 15 pounds after
high school. I joined a weight loss clinic and began taking aerobics classes
locally at night. It took a year but I actually lost all of the weight I had gained
during pregnancy and then some! I felt great. My first setback came when I
had my first son two years later. I gained 40 pounds during that pregnancy
and was again determined to lose all the weight. I went back to exercising
and dieting and again lost the weight. I was a stay at home mom then so was
able to fit in a good workout schedule. I was able to maintain the weight well
as I really ramped up the exercise and worked out at a YMCA 5 - 6 days a
week. It didn’t seem too difficult to lose the weight when I was in my 20’s, it
took effort but was easier than it is now.

My most recent (and longest) battle trying to lose weight was after my third
child was born. I was 30 when I got pregnant and weighed about 125 pounds
and even though I gained about 40 pounds I lost all but the last 15 pounds
fairly quickly. I was working full time and found it very difficult to get into a
good workout routine and of course I love food too much. For the next
decade or so I struggled to even stay at 140 and found myself gaining a little
more weight each year. When I reached 160 pounds I freaked out because I
had never weighed that much without it being related to “pregnancy”. I found
Beachbody and after reviewing the programs decided on Power 90 for my first
workout purchase. I loved it! I was really committed and got down to 145 -
not my goal but had at least lost the “extra” weight I had put on. But I got
cocky and started to skip some workouts and quit paying attention to what I
ate and again over the next couple of years crept back up to 160 pounds!

In February of 2008, I started to recommit to working out and trying to be
“careful” about what I ate. I started going to a gym and worked with a
student personal trainer. I very slowly started to lose some weight and
started feeling a lot stronger so I decided to buy P90X. Wow what a program!
I followed it pretty well for awhile but never ate very well so while I gained
some muscle and got stronger I only lost a little more weight. That’s when I
found ChaLean Extreme, my most favorite workout program so far. I started
just before Christmas 2008 and have had great success. I’m losing a little
weight each week and quite a few inches – even through the holidays. I’m
still struggling with food but am committed to get back at writing everything
down to make better choices every day. I am almost done with my first 3
months and plan to work very hard between now and September to get to my
most fit, lean, and healthy me I can be! I want to prove to everyone that while
you need to work at getting to your “goal” – it’s also a never give up attitude
that gets you there and if you commit and recommit you can make it. When
your metabolism slows down in your 30’s and 40’s you can overcome this by
putting more muscle in your body and of course eating healthy. Beachbody
has so many awesome workouts that anyone can find something they will
like.
