Hi, 40 yo emergency room physician. Stressful job & poor eating habits make
staying in shape and at a good weight difficult. In my pre-med school life I
played soccer, rock climbed, played ultimate and volleyball. I am now
participating in triathlons & bicycle racing.

I've now decided to become a p90x coach even though I am still undergoing

In April of 2005 I had back surgery to correct a herniated disk and a flattened
S1 nerve that had weakened my right hamstrings and calf to the point of not
being able to walk up stairs More ...
In April of 2005 I had back surgery to correct a herniated disk and a flattened
S1 nerve that had weakened my right hamstrings and calf to the point of not
being able to walk up stairs without holding onto a handrail. I was 35 years
old at the time.

I reached my heaviest weight of about 160 in the months after the surgery. I
began cycling & swimming as rehab, and eventually, was able to run again. I
got my weight down to 140, felt great, and started training for triathlons.

Then life intervened again, and I finished my residency and had less time to
train and more stress from the job.

Nearing 40, I was sick of hurting all the time, and was feeling fat. People
asked if I was pregnant because I carry all my weight on my belly as you can
see in the before picture.

p90x has given me the motivation to work out daily, and just as important, a
good diet plan to follow that provides me with the energy I need to workout.

With my new weight loss from the p90x program, I plan to start racing
bicycles again this fall with the women's development team that I founded,
Steel City Endurance, also my coaching company. When I "graduate" from
p90x with results to show, I plan to become a p90x coach as well.
