I am a 44 year old Registered Nurse of 21 years. I have always been the girl who had the butt, boobs, hips & thighs. I was always self conscience of my body when I was younger, even though I wasn't "fat" and I was always active. I was either riding my bike, working out with aerobic class & gym equipment and after all of that, I would walk my dogs for a couple of miles. I was sick with Ulcerative Colitis in my 20's and at age 28 underwent a surgery that removed my entire large intestine, rectal tissue, and construction of what is called a "J-pouch". After that surgery I felt so lucky and blessed because I got my life back! I was eating SO healthy and excercising regularly, being faithful that I didn't want to take my new health for granted. I felt I had been given a gift of new life! I continued with this for a long time and somehow, for many different reasons, over the past few years I have managed to gain ALOT of weight.... I am the biggest I have ever been in MY entire life.. My mother died very unexpectedly 3 years ago and I have managed to gain 25 pounds since her death. Grief will affect many different areas of your life and I had actually reached a point where I didn't care anymore... but now I do! When I talked to my "coach" who is also a very dear friend I voiced this to her.. that I had gained weight (we haven't seen each other in a long while & we live in different states).. the first thing she said to me was "Suzie you have always been so active!" and we had a heart to heart chat and the thing is, I KNOW I can lose ALLLLL of this annoying adipose tissue AND I can be the person I once was... HEALTHY and HAPPY! My mother would want it that way... I can't wait to post my progress and get to know other individuals who, for whatever reason, have managed to let themselves go.. they don't call this game "LIFE" for nothing... we're dead a really long time and I plan to LIVE for as long as I am living-- and I hope you will too!!!!
