I was 37 years old and in the worst shape of my life. I went to the doctor for my first physical in almost 5 years and he told me my cholesterol was high, I was borderline diabetic and very overweight, walking the edge of obesity. With a long line of diabetes on both sides of my family, I decided it was time to do something.

I spent a week studying both P90x and Insanity and ultimately decided that Insanity would help me lose weight and get into shape being cardio-based. The only question was whether or not I had let myself get in such bad shape that I wouldn't be able to survive long enough to BEGIN to get into shape. I was a member at a local gym and I literally couldn't last two tenths of a mile at 5.5mph, how the hell was I going to complete Insanity? I decided that it was something that had to be done and I ordered it.

The first day consisted of a fit test and upon completion of that test, I had less than an optimistic outlook. The next day, the first workout, was plyometric cardio circuit and I began. I felt at ease, in the comfort of my own home and not having fitness model and a dozen Mr. Universe contestants peering down on me. What I discovered was that the Insanity Program was not so much something that you had to kill yourself to complete. You give it all you have for as long as you can, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, whatever it is. Work as hard as you can, take the rest if you need it and then jump back in.

Two weeks later I repeated the fit test and nearly tripled my original results. I was blown away, I had no idea I had came that far that fast and I didn't realize it because nothing had really changed. I was still giving it everything I had for as long as I could, taking the rest and jumping back in.

After about the 40th day or so, I went tubing and was shown a picture of myself without my shirt on..... I literally did not recognize the body beneath my head. It was like my face had been photoshopped onto another picture.

I went from 212 pounds down to 186 pounds and I don't have a single pair of pants in my closet that fit me. Even those jeans you cant wear right out of the dryer are now too big.

Trust me when I tell you....Insanity works.
