I was recently named as a Co-Chair in charge of fundraising for Temecula Valley People Helping People. I set the World Record for most pounds liftedin one hour and it is all in my rookie year. I set the record on October 15, 2007. I lifted 41,025 (1641 repetitions of 25 lbs). The past record was with 36,610 set in July 2001 by Dragan Radovic, a veteran of the industry for 30+ years. I also had my picture in Muscle & Fitness in the October 2007 issue showing the TeamUSA victory in London. My Progress My fitness goal: Transformation story

There it was December 31, 2006. I was considering a New Years Resolution of losing weight, like 98% of the rest of the world, by averaging 1 hour of workout per day for 2007. Let me inform you how my weight got so far out of whack. First, there is this little thing called life that gets in the way. You see, if you do not manage to get in control of your day-to-day activities then you will soon see the decline of this vessel that you were given to occupy here on Earth. As a single man, I never had to worry about time and/or place to workout. Then in March of 2003, I got engaged. OK, so this is the time when both Carrie and myself, still living in our own places, were both doing our levelheaded best to get into awesome shape for the wedding, which was a masterpiece of marital production that was covered by OC Bride magazine. We looked great and felt great. Married life now brings a lot of changes. First, you move in together and share your living space and more importantly you share your TIME. Where, once you were able to roll out of bed and go to the gym, you now roll over and hit someone else on the way out that then wants to talk and cuddle and maybe some other things that are now completely your “right” to do as a married couple. And, you soon notice that the gym becomes a thing of the past. Because, lets face it, staying in bed is a lot more attractive then sweating, grunting and panting in a gym and hopes are that it is exactly that which you will do while you do stay in bed. So, finally, after a few months both your schedules begin to gel and you find yourself sharing some workouts and things start to get back on track with exercise becoming a regular part of your life again. Then one day you are sitting on the edge of the bed with your spouse waiting for the longest 60-seconds of your life. And, then, after what seems like a half an hour, you find out what is going to occupy your precious time for probably the rest of your natural born life….pregnancy. Now pregnancy is one thing. But, then comes the actual birth of, not one but two, little beautiful pieces of art comprised of parts of Carrie (thank goodness they got her looks) and me. Jalee, 6 lbs 5 oz, and Jaxon, 7 lbs 10 oz, at such a small size (albeit huge for twins) came to take up such a large part of each and every 24 hour period. Workouts became a thing of the past and late night pigouts and snackfests became the activities that were so much easier to allow with feedings being every two hours. Plus, all of your friends conspire to “help you” by bringing over their rendition of what you need to eat that is easy for you to throw in the microwave and heat up. Invariably, it is some form of pasta concoction with added carbs if they could find them. I ballooned from the 230s to the 280s in 5 short months with a stint of a blown back from entirely too much food and too little exercise (throw in a complete lack of sleep for good measure). My necessity for getting back into shape was now beginning to form. With two jobs, a loving wife and two very active, rapidly growing little bundles of joy, I needed to search for something that could get that very elusive ingredient to weight loss well in hand. I needed motivation. My quest was for both of us and I had to get a handle on it first. Back to the New Year’s Resolution, I logged on to and joined a community that has been constructed as a support system by the people and for the people. I found it through beachbody.com, the sister company to the community that helped me to succeed. The system kept me motivated to keep training. My motivation lead to my wife joining in the quest. Furthermore, my motivation was so great that, on April 1, Dr. Nick Delgado takes notice. He invites me to become part of TeamUSA and travel to London to compete at the SENI 2007 Combat Sport EXPO in the Powerlifting Endurance Competition of Vertical Lifting, and it wasn’t an April Fool’s Day joke. On May 19th, Team USA emerged victorious beating The UK, Ireland and Dubais in the World Title Finals with a total of 542 lifts with 45 lbs in each hand, 247 of which were from me. Am I proud of my transformation......yes, I am part of the TeamUSA that now holds the World Title. I am in better shape now than I have been in years and my wife is getting into the spirit and making huge leaps towards her personal goals, too. Now, I have recently Set a World Record for most pounds lifted in an hour using a continuous vertical lift defined as a dumbbell curl from the waist continuing as a press above the head. I used 25 lb weights and completed 1641 repetitions for a total of 41,025 lbs in one hour. The past record was set in 2001 at 36,610 by Dragan Radovic a veteran of 30+ years in the fitness industry. This is my rookie year and I have already joined the ranks of the Best in the World. I will, of course, continue to log in and workout often as I seek to get Guinness authentication and publication. Thank you for the motivation and support. | Please sign in to flag this as inappropriate.
