I have tried to maintain a consistent exercise plan for most of my adult life. About 10 years ago, my weight began to increase and I started a low carb diet. The initial diet was successful in helping me lose weight, but I never felt healthy or good. As a result, I “cheated” on the diet, which resulted in me feeling better, but the pounds came back.
This started the weight gain cycle that I have tried to maintain a consistent exercise plan for most of my adult life. About 10 years ago, my weight began to increase and I started a low carb diet. The initial diet was successful in helping me lose weight, but I never felt healthy or good. As a result, I “cheated” on the diet, which resulted in me feeling better, but the pounds came back.
This started the weight gain cycle that resulted in me always being on a diet and never feeling healthy. Unfortunately, each time I became serious on the diet, I would lose less weight on the downward spiral and gain more weight on the upward. The more weight I lost, the less energy I had. I always felt tired and irritable. Obviously, this roller coaster lifestyle is not worth riding.
Everything came to a head this summer with me being in the worse shape of my life. I began to intensify my training and start the diet spiral again; however, it appeared my body was completely rejecting any effort to get back in shape and lose weight. I began to supplement my diet with weight loss pills, but still nothing.
I had hit rock bottom of health and weighed 275 pounds. I needed a nutritional plan that has variety and one that would allow me to plan for the week ahead. I also needed a new approach to weight and cardio training. The current program was stale and boring.
I began researching training programs on the Internet. I was looking for a program that included nutrition, strength and cardio training. I found P90X and saw the 30 minute infomercial on TV. I am confident P90X is the all around program that will get me back in shape.

I started the P90X program on Monday, October 6. Although the first week was difficult, I completed each program and began eating according to the P90X Nutrition Plan. After the second week, I was amazed with the progress my out of shape body was making - the exercise reps were increasing, the weights were increasing and my flexibility was improving.
I lost 18 pounds by Nov. 8, 2008. My energy and stamnia have improved to a point I can almost keep up with the kids on the Plyometric days. My job performance has improved and I am able to "bring it" all day. I have a long way to go, but I can see results and feel better each day.
