My name is Tanya and I am a wife and mother of one handsome little man and this is my story :-)

Let me go back just a little bit ;-) At the age of 18 (not too long ago lol) a friend asked me to do something that would change my life....she asked me to join the Marine Corps with her (not something you get asked everyday)! My ONLY question was “Do I have to cut my hair?” Lol!!! Well lucky for me I didn’t have to cut it so less than 5 months later I was off to Marine Corps Boot Camp for 3 months :-) It is one of the BEST decisions I’ve made in my life! During my 4 years of Active Duty Service I traveled a little, but most importantly I met my wonderful husband and gave birth to our son.

I decided to get out of the Marines and be a stay at home mom. Now up until this point I have always been in great shape. I played basketball growing up and of course there was physical training in the Marines. Well, I didn’t maintain the same level of activity as a stay at home mom. I did stay at a good weight but after the years have passed I was no longer in any kind of shape at all and I spent a lot of time on the couch (which I guess turned out to be a good thing lol).

In September of 2006 at the young age of 28, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I found out my results only a few short hours before my husband’s return from Iraq. So needless to say, it was a bitter sweet day. I went through chemo, weeks of radiation, herceptin for a year and I am currently getting an injection every 3 months along with one pill a day. So having been through ALL of that, what REAL excuse do I have for not taking care of my health? There isn’t one!

After seeing the P90X infomercial NUMEROUS times, I ordered it....another one of the BEST decisions I’ve ever made. I discovered Team Beachbody shortly after and loved all of the support on here from other people using the programs and my great coach as well! So I decided to be a coach myself and be that support for other people trying to take control of their lives again and I enjoy doing it :-)
