My name is Dean Tribe Im 34 years old from Mesquite TX. I’ve been married for 11 years and have a 9 year old daughter. I’m a Detention Officer for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department. Why P90X? Back in January of 09 I tried out for the S.R.T. team,
(Special Response Team) it’s a prison /jail swat team. The tryouts consist of a two day fitness test. The first day was timed pushups 50, sit-ups 50, stair clime with riot gear, and a 160 lbs dummy drag while wearing riot gear, I thought I was in decent shape when I made it through the first day. The second day consisted of a 2 mile run in under 18 minutes, and a huge obstacle course of walls, ropes, jumps, and monkey bars. You name it was there. I completed the 2 mile run at 16.02. After the run we were given a short rest and then on to the final test. The obstacle course. I breezed through the first few obstacles with ease then fatigue hit me in a way that I have never felt. It felt like I ran into a huge WALL. I was only 1/3 of the way through the course and I was exhausted. I approached the next obstacle witch was believe it or not was a huge WALL. No matter what I tried I just could not find the strength to get over that WALL. Needles to say, I failed the test and did not make the team. I was so angry with my self for not making the team I gave up on fitness altogether. I started eating the wrong things stopped working out, and went from 175 lbs to 195 lbs in 3 months and started to become depressed at the thought of what I was becoming. I saw the infomercial for P90X and ordered it. I plan on starting the P90x Classic program on April 6th. S.R.T. tryouts are coming up again this fall and I’m hoping with the help of P90X I can get over that wall.
