Have a lot of weight to lose? Need help from someone who's been there? You've found the right person! I became a Beachbody coach after losing about 150 lb with P90X, Shakeology and Turbo Fire. It only took 10 months! There were a lot of ups and downs, and a lot of really hard lows, but I pushed through it and I did it. I learned a lot of really great tools and tricks to get rid of the fat and still be able to enjoy life (because what's the point of being skinny and buff if you're miserable and feeling deprived?) and I would love to pass those tools on to you! A bit about me: nutrition and exercise have always been two areas I have struggled with. However, I had a "skinny fat" physique; I *looked* thin with clothes on so I never bothered to worry too much about exercising consistently and I really only watched what I ate when I had to fit in a dress for a special event.
Then, I got pregnant and not exercising and not watching what I ate caught up with me. Before I was pregnant, I was about 150 lb. The day after I gave birth, I weighed in at 301.4. 301.4!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? How on earth did I get to be over 300 lb? This was a really painful wake up call. I was really lucky that my baby boy was born healthy and I never had gestational diabetes. I paid for this, however, health wise. I developed non alcoholic steatohepatitis from fat deposits in my liver. My gallbladder started backing up because it couldn't produce enough bile to help breakdown all the fat in my system. Soon enough, it failed and had to be removed. I was sick. My skin was covered in acne. My eyes seemed permanently dark and puffy. I was humiliated to leave the house. I couldn't wear any clothes. I was in pain all the time and I could barely hold my new baby. This was not a life. I knew I needed to do something big and change it before I became a statistic.
Of course, that was back in March of 2011. Since then, I have been working out 6 days of the week. I have completed P90X, Turbo Fire, Turbo Jam and have started on Les Mills Pump. I have lost 165 lb to this day (April 22, 2012). That's an entire person! I'm proud of my body like I've never felt before. I am fit. I can wear the clothes I want to wear and they look good!
Since losing all of this weight, I decided to become a Team Beachbody coach. My own coach was an amazing contribution to my weight loss success. It is a lot of work to lose weight and build muscle and change your body and having someone to help you along the way is vital. I decided I wanted to pay that forward. If you need help, message me! Right before giving birth to my son, I was the biggest I had ever been in my life. I weighed in at just over 300 lb. As soon as I was given the go ahead by my doctor, I started working out with P90X. With P90X, my core started to regain some of the strength lost from carrying a baby and birthing him. In fact, my back started to get stronger! Soon, holding my baby became easy. I had muscles forming in my arms and shoulders that I could see (in the right light.)
After completing P90X, I felt like I wanted to step it up. I liked how strong I felt from the X, but I wanted to LOOK how I felt as well and I needed some more motivation. I started Turbo Fire and fell in love. The music kept me pushing play. The HIIT's made my lungs stronger. And best of all? The core shredding and cardio made those muscles in my arms, shoulders, legs and abs start to show and not just in the right light!
Now I'm almost down a full 150 lb! I am just 5 lb shy of my first goal. I have started Les Mills Pump and I am hoping that will take my body to the next level!
