Update - Doing doubles in P90X with "Insanity" as my morning workout.

I am 59, and sick of feeling overweight, and lethargic, even though I have tried to eat light and exercise regularly for the last 12 years.

In school, I used to play water polo, and was on the swim team. At 155 lbs
back then, I was strong, light, and fast. After school I did a lot of swimming
in the Navy. Back

MARCH 2009 UPDATE - "Charlie Mike"

JAN 2009 UPDATE
I have had to spend more than a third of my time last year on the road. I have
had to modify my eating and workouts... It has been ruff. In that time though,
I lost 2 more inches in my waist and now ware 32" pants down from the 38" I
started in. I have had to deal with physical injury where facia in my right arm
pulled loose, but by modifying, I have been able to see it healing.

This year has made me have to adapt to cope with the circumstances that
have radically disrupted my well oiled routine that got me my 90 days result.
It has taught me patience and endurance. It is now time to continue on, and
encourage others to play an active role in their lives as well.

Back in the 70s, I sustained injury to both shoulders. After that point on, I did
not do anything to work on them. I limited my use of weights to only light
weights. I focused on 20 to 30 minute sessions on a stationary bike to try and
loose weight. I exercised at least 5 if not 6 days a week, and never saw any
real improvement in weight, strength and especially my heart health. My
blood pressure was high as well.

One day, I was flipping through the channels, and there was this infomercial
for P90X. I usually don't waste my time watching those, but, there was a
simple quick explanation about "muscle confusion". That struck home with
me. I made a commitment that day and looked forward with keen anticipation
for the arrival of my pull-up bar and dvd package. I chose to follow the
"Lean" path through the "X".

I am now two weeks away from being a P90X graduate. I can't believe the
massive improvement in my heart health. I struggled and maxed my heart
rate out in most of the cardio routines, having to "pause" and wait quit a
while to get down to my zone. Now, I hardly hesitate, even on the very
intense routines. Oh, I feel it! But, I recover much quicker, and can go the
distance and feel eXcellent after the workout.

As I mentioned, I don't have a problem following a routine, I did for 12 years,
NOW I CAN ACTUALLY GET RESULTS! That is worth all the effort, sweat and
pain. My strength has increased radically, and I have dropped in pant size
from a 38 when I started, to a loose 34 now. I still have more "goo" to burn,
but I am motivated by all the great members on the message boards to Bring
It and keep Pushing Play.

I have found a new "way of life"! One which makes you feel great just to be
alive. You can have all kinds of material things, but vibrant health is priceless!
