I became a Beachbody coach because I was so effected by these programs. They were life altering for me. They got me off the couch, got me active, got me motivated and disciplined. I became aware of what I was putting into my body and how important eating clean is. I feel better, I look better and have a general feeling of well being that was missing from my life.

I was always blessed with an active life style because of my chosen sport of horseback riding. I compete in the hunter jumper world and because of this have always treated my horses like the athletes they are. They can't miss a day of work and loose fitness and stay competitive, so I was kept very active for a long time.

I worked for various trainers and rode up to 7-10 horses a day. Add a few miles walked bringing horses in to ride and you have what should be a very fit person. And in many ways I was. But my diet was HORRIBLE. I "didn't have time to eat" all the time. Connivence food was staple and when I got home I would eat whatever I could get my hands on as quickly as possible. "Isn't there anything faster than microwaving" was a common statement in my house. And it didn't matter what I ate because I would be right back at work burning millions of calories the next day.

And then I hit my late 30's and decided that I needed to grow up and get a real job. So I ended up in an office sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours a day. Quite a change from my previous lifestyle, and even though I was still doing chores at my own farm and riding one or two horses it was not enough to keep up with my eating habits. Coupled with the fact that I was pushing 40 my metabolism slowed considerably. In 18 months I gained close to 15 lbs. I was appalled when I saw some pictures of myself.

I realized I needed to do something and do it fast or I would be fighting to loose 30 lbs, and I was pretty sure that my horses did not want to carry that around. So I started dieting. and I started failing at dieting. And then I tried "special diets" like Nutrisystem and South beach and many others. I would loose a few lbs and then put them right back on as soon as the monthly food delivery stopped.

I started having health issues as well, and in my research I felt that a lot of my issues could be solved by what I was eating. "you are what you eat" really is a truism, and something I strongly believe. I was able to loose 10 lbs by eating clean and developed a real taste for vegetables and whole grains.

My journey was not over though as the health issues developed into something only surgery could cure. I knew that if I could get my body very strong and strengthen my core that my recovery would be much faster and easier. I started with Tony's 10 minute trainer and added in some additional exercises. My surgery was a breeze, my recovery was unbelievably easy and I was back on my horses a full week before expected. Diet and Exercise worked. I felt healthy and strong.

And of course after I recovered I slipped a little bit here and a little bit there. Ate a piece of Halloween candy, had a christmas cookie and a large portion or Thanksgiving comfort food. My exercise stopped and then I looked up and saw that I had put on 7 lbs. I couldn't fit into some of my normal jeans, I was uncomfortable in my clothes.

So back to Beach body I went. This time I went with Chalene Extreme. I was pretty sure I was not going to have the time, that I was going to get bored and bail in middle. But here I am in the Lean month, loving this program. I have lost 5 lbs and can see muscle all over my body. My waist is 1.5" smaller. And best of all when my overly athletic horse jumps a big jump I am no longer struggling with my body to stay with him in the air. I am strong enough to balance right where I need to be.

I am so excited about the transformation my body has made just in this short time that I have to share it with everyone. This program works. I can't wait to continue on my fitness journey.
