Frisco, TX I'm originally from Caracas, Venezuela. I moved to the US with my parents when I was 12 years old. Did not speak English but learned it quickly in school. Growing up I learned the value of hard work and a positive attitude from my parents, who always worked very hard to help us have everything possible. I remember working with my dad after school and in the summers mowing yards since I was 13 I'm originally from Caracas, Venezuela. I moved to the US with my parents when I was 12 years old. Growing up I learned the value of hard work and a positive attitude from my parents, who always worked very hard to help us have everything possible. I remember working with my dad after school and in the summers mowing yards since I was 13 years old. We had a massive paper route that I helped with along with my 2 sisters - everyday, rain or shine 365 days a year. I remember even prom night having to finish the party and going to meet my dad at the paper rout. When I was 19 I met a woman that along with my parents would be another important force in my life to push me to succeed like never before. My wife Lilly. It was the summer of 1987 and little did I know what an impact she would have on the rest of my life. She had moved with her mom and brother from Mexico City a year earlier. I know when I saw her I was so impressed with her how beautiful, smart, and sophisticated she was. She blew me away. We dated for 7 yrs before getting married (we were young and wanted to wait for the right time). Almost 7 years later we had a beautiful daughter, Monique, and a couple of years after that a Son, Daniel. What a joy and gift little did we know. Today, I hold an executive position for a large firm in the finance industry - I've been blessed beyond belief. My only hope is to be able give back as much as has been given to me.

It was March 24th 2008 and for the 6 months prior, I tortured myself by watching the P90X commercials and thinking I'm not going to waist my money on that...Nevertheless, everytime I surfed the channels, that same commercial was there almost taunting me. Looking back, I think I was mostly scared of failure. I finally got so frustrated of waking up each morning tired, disgusted by my 38 inch waist and just thinking, my dress shirts collars would not button and I could not put on a tie comfortably. I kept thinking it was the cleaners that kept shrinking my shirts - not so much... When I got it in the mail and asked my wife Lilly to take my day 1 pictures. I know what she was thinking...Here he goes again, on some other thing he will be interested in for the moment. Maybe it wasn't her thinking this but my own self talk/image. I started with the workout the very next morning. I read throught the nutrition guide took the measurements and started preparing my meals every day. In the first 2 weeks, I noticed a change but it wasn't until the end of the first month when I took my measurements, that I noticed I had lost 10 pounds!! WOW...I started then to develop an obcession and almost thinking about the program and the possibilities every moment of the day. I really had never stuck with anything this long, I thought to myself - but IO keept pushing play, especially when I didn't really want to. The fact was that I was turning 40 in August (only a few months away)and in my mind that was D day. It was a deadline I had set for my self - almost like something fliped in my head and told me I only had a certain number of days to accomplish this and by my 40th birthday(not by 40th b-day and one day but by my 40th!)I wanted to feel and look better than I did when I was 20. I'm sure, a lot of folks feel this sort of crisis as they approach these magical numbers, the fact is that I really committed to it and by the end of the 2nd month, people started noticing - what are you doing? More importantly, by the 3rd month I had moved my belt to the very last hole and my pants were all bunching up on the sides - I had lost 5 inches off my waist. What a feeling, not just because of the weight I lost, but really how I felt about myself. Now I understand that there is something that taste much better than food - it is the feeling you get when you've accomplished a goal like this...the feeling of knowing that all you have to do is decide (I mean really decide). The feeling when you look in the mirror and you are proud because you have accomplished something above average - this feeling is more edictive than any food or vice, I know it will keep me going down this track for the rest of my life...who knows what's next!
