Hey there Beach Body fans! My name is Aimee Maggio, and I was born and raised in Webster New York, suburb of Rochester. I have been involved in fitness my whole life, starting gymnastics at 2, playing every sport every season, including summers. Back in high school I did a sport every season,and basically ate whatever I wanted. When I went off to college, in the first week I accidently kicked through a ceiling to floor plate glass window, while doing gymnastics in my suite room the night before cheerleading try-outs. I ended up severing 5 tendons in my lower right leg. Being in a cast for a couple months was torture! For the first time in my life I was unable to work out or play a sport. So naturally I started to gain weight. Until that point I had no idea that my genetics weren't so perfect, and in my inactivity I would gain weight just like everyone else. On top of that I became really lethargic. Since then, I vowed that if I had use of my legs I was going to use them to run, skip, jump! Anything I could do to get back to my old self. We are very fortunate that we have these amazing bodies that allow us to stay active. I feel we should vow to make it a point to do something active everyday. Whether it's for only 10 minutes, do something to raise that heart rate, we owe it to ourselves. :) I try to be the best Aimee everyday. Sure we all have those days where we just don't feel like it, but if you put some pumpin music on and try to get in the mood for exercise, it makes it easier to get up and get movin. And after that, you know you feel so much better! Come on now!! :o)
