My name is Allan and I am an independent Beachbody Coach living in Washington, DC. I started doing P90X within the past couple of years and recently completed Shaun T's Insanity. Although my fitness journey is ongoing, I have seen great results and I am willing to help you do the same!

I have always considered myself to be a very active person. Throughout the years, I participated in competitive swimming as well as various styles of martial arts including Taekwondo, Arnis (Filipino stick-fighting) and Capoeira. During this time, I was in the best shape of my life, and I was still able to eat like a human garbage can. General Tso's chicken and a jumbo slice of pizza washed down with a few pints of beer? Not a problem! My metabolism was in full gear and I didn't have a care in the world. As I switched to more demanding jobs which involved more commuting and less time available exercise, I quickly slipped away from my healthy standard of life. Years later, I wake up to find myself 20lbs heavier, a couple of pant-sizes larger, and a nice gut hanging over my belt whenever I sat in a chair. In the back of my mind, I knew that I had to make a change, but I lacked the motivation and the direction.
My first encounter with the Beachbody programs was P90X. My friend (and now coach) Chris introduced me to Tony's monstrous workout, but I didn't take it seriously. My friend's results were incredible and I could feel the workouts slowly transforming my body, but I didn't adhere to the schedule (skipped a bunch of workouts) and was extremely liberal with the nutrition plan. Needless to say, I quickly lost motivation and didn't see great results.
On a second cycle of P90X, I kept up with all the workouts but was yet again following my own nutrition plan (read: I would still eat Big Macs and devour and entire Outback Bloomin' Onion - on my own). Although I was a step closer than before, I was still too far from my ideal.
In early 2009, (after a slight bout with pneumonia) my health was at an all-time low. I would feel a bit light-headed after climbing 5 flights of stairs and my weight soared to 205lbs. I was sick of holding in my gut whenever I walked and I refused to buy larger clothes. This was right around the time that Shaun T's Insanity was released, and it instantly caught my attention. After a short period of cardio-conditioning, I set out on the 60-day journey to transform my life.
Insanity not only challenged me physically, but it pushed me to my mental limits as well. I lay in a pool of my own sweat every night, unable to fathom what I just completed and also wondering whether my body would be able to keep going the next day. But I knew I was traveling the right path. Unlike before, I radically changed my nutrition plan which included dropping out all caffeine, chocolate, soda and fast food from my diet. After 60 days, I dropped about 8% body fat. weighed in at 175 lbs and was finally able to wear pants that haven't fit since college.
My fellow coaches from "That Team" and I have recently started a 90-day hybrid program which includes workouts from Insanity, P90X, P90X+, and One-on-One with Tony Horton.
Now that I am an independent coach, I thoroughly enjoy seeing the satisfaction/happiness of my friends and family as I help them achieve their goals as well.
