My Photos | alaskababy I am 20 years old, live in Alaska and have a beautiful son who is almost 2. I got married just over a year ago to a wonderful man with all the kinks that drive women crazy, but I love him anyways. I love to work out and do physical activity, especially when it is fun. I love the Turbo Jam and P90 work-outs because they are fun and I shed allot of weight quickly. My son loves the music, so he dances while I work out. I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my husband and son. We plan on having more children, so I am so happy to have two, soon to be three, weight loss systems that I know will help me lose the weight. I love to talk with and motivate other people, especially other moms, or those who love to work out as much as me. It makes me happy to boost other's self confidence and help them realize what they can achieve. I like to read and go out to movies, (popcorn not required) and anything I can do with my son is pretty much a winner for me. I am a Christian woman, so I like to be around other positive people who love to make God’s earth a better place! I think exercise is one of the many ways to make the world a better place and make our life here worth living. It has been an amazing experience to find an entire web-site full of people who have the same goals and aspirations as me. I will forever be thankful to those on the MDB threads who helped me get to where I am and push me to continue to go further. Shout outs to Diana, Paola, and Beth!! I am forever thankful for all of you! My Progress My fitness goal: Transformation story

My story may not seem very long to some, but for me it has been a long and very frustrating journey. I am only 20 years old, but the term “yo-yo” fits my life very well. My dad was in the Army for my entire childhood, so we moved a lot. I was always an average weight child with a family that ate pretty healthily. Then 8th grade cam e along and I met my first “male friend” who took me out to eat everyday, sometimes twice. I went from a junior’s size 5 to a 13! My self confidence had never been a problem, but I just wasn’t happy with the way I looked. All through High School I took gym, and classes like aerobics and jazz dance. The summer before my junior year, my mom and I joined a gym and I went down to a size 8. I felt pretty good, big bones and not-so-trim waist-lines run in the family so I just figured I would never be as thin as the other girls in school. Maybe my body just was not made to be skinny and sculpted. I found myself staring at all the girls in soccer and in cheerleading, totally jealous and wondering why their bodies could look so beautiful and not mine. I did not think I was fat, just heavier that I wanted to be. My friends always said I looked good, I coved up any “excess” very well. Then I reached my senior year, we moved again (this would be my 5th high school) back to Alaska where I had attended middle school. I was around all my old friends and I was not required to take P.E. so naturally, my waist-line increased again. Not to mention that on the drive up to Alaska I had gained a good 10 pounds being in the car snacking all day! Throughout my senior year I fluctuated from a size 9 to a 13. I was always frustrated with myself for not eating better and buying snacks at those stupid vending machines! (They should ban those things, lol)! After I graduated, my family moved to Georgia. Another 2 week car ride with all kinds of goodies to snack on. I of course gained a few pounds, but figured I would start working out when we got settled. Soon after moving into our house, I found out I was pregnant with a baby boy! With everyone around me telling me to “eat for two” and having chocolate cravings all the time, my weight sky-rocketed to 185 pounds!! After my son was born, I weighed in at just over 160 pounds. Through walking and eating a “little” better I went down to 155lbs. About 5 months later and no additional weight loss; I met Jon, who is now my husband. I got very self-conscious of my weight and wanted to look my best so I started eating better and started looking for an exercise program I could do. That week, while sitting on my butt watching T.V., I saw the infomercial for Turbo Jam. I was completely hooked and ordered it that evening! I received it in the mail about a week later and started it that day. That was Feb. 12, 2007, the first day in my journey to real weight loss and happiness. In the first 4 months using TJ, I lost 10 pounds and 15 inches! I continued to use the program, but still wanted something more. I had seen so many amazing success stories and beautiful bodies while logged onto WOWY, from people who had used a program called P90. So…I logged onto beachbody and looked it up. After reading all about it I was so exited and wanted to try it. I could not afford it at the time, but I was going to save up to get it. In July my family, hubby, and I decided to move back up to Alaska. We didn’t leave until September so I had time to save money for the trip and I knew that I would probably gain some weight and lose muscle on the trip, so I ordered the P90 system before we left and had it shipped to a friend so it would be waiting for me when I got there. It took us 3 weeks in the car to get there. As soon as we got into our apartment and got the T.V. hooked up, I started prep week. On October 29th, 2007 I started P90. I was so exited. I pushed through each work-out and loved the way my muscles reacted to the weights. I have come to love the “burn” that comes with lifting weights and get so hyped doing my cardio. I am already past day 60 and looking forward to day 90. I am already so shocked at the results I have gotten already!! I have lost another 8 pounds and 15 more inches!! I have gone from a size 10 to a 4, a size 4!! I never thought I could be that small! I have definition in my arms and legs, my waist is down to 26.5” and I am feeling great. I got P90X for Christmas and I am starting that right after I finish my 90 days in January. I am so exited to start that, and the thought that I will be in a two piece swim suit after having a baby and never being very thin, is enough to make me jump and shout it to the world, (and hey, that burns calories)! I received the “Eat Clean Diet” book and “Eat Clean Diet Cookbook” both by Tosca Reno for Christmas too and I am incorporating her philosophy of completely eating clean. I know I will loose all my excess flab and have an amazing sculpted body by the time I get done with my first round of the X! Through doing these real-life programs and meeting so many good people through beachbody and MDB, I have achieved so much more than I ever thought I could. The thought that I will be in a size 2 by this summer is so overwhelming and amazing that my eyes tear-up just thinking about it. I cannot thank Chalene Johnson, Tony Horton and all the people at MDB for making what I thought was the impossible, possible. You have helped so many people and I am so thrilled to be one of those success stories like I saw on T.V. and your web-site. I never want to look back at what I used to be, except to make sure I am never there again. Thank You MDB for changing my life and giving me the best body I could possible have! | Please sign in to flag this as inappropriate.
