Growing up, I had always been active. I was involved in many activities, including but not limited to - cheerleading, softball, basketball, tennis, swimming, running, and aerobics tapes. Being physically active has always been a part of my life, but for some reason, once I hit the latter years of college, it became very hard for me to find an activity that I enjoyed doing on a consistent basis.
Surprisingly, even though during college I was on-and-off an exercise program, and was definitely NOT eating healthy, I lost about 10 pounds and stayed right around 115-120 throughout most of college. However, once college was over, and my amount of daily activity decreased drastically once I entered the work force, I gained back the weight I had lost during college (and probably then some!) and found myself back up around 130-135 pounds. This really did not suit me, as I had always tried to maintain the weight I was during college. My boyfriend at the time introduced me to Turbo Jam, so I ordered the DVDs and I was HOOKED from the very first workout!! FINALLY a workout program I could follow! It was fun, I got to dance and shake my groove thang, and sweat all at the same time. Every since that day, exercise has never been something I feel like I have to do. It's something I enjoy doing. Along with Turbo Jam, I also do/have done Chalean Extreme, P90X, Hip Hop Abs, and Yoga Booty Ballet. My next workout program is going to be INSANITY!! I have heard nothing but great things from this workout program, so I am excited to get started and challenge my body and mind in a new way.
