I'm Lisha and I just graduated from Colorado State University. I started gaining weight after my parents divorced when I was 8 years old and it's just been going up ever since. It hit me yesterday when I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror that if I wanted someone else to love me, I have to love me first. So today is the day it begins!

I LOST 100 POUNDS!!!!!! There are just absolutely no words! For the first time in 13 years, I saw a 1 in front of my weight and I just stood
on the scale and cried realizing all i've accomplished. It's unbelievable! We're
still going strong ONE YEAR later! I have officially accomplished one of
my goals I set out to when I first joined beach body and that was to run my
colleges Homecoming 5K race. Not only did I run it without stopping, I did it
in a personal best time of 33mins and 45secs. I am so proud of myself
because I never would have though in a million years I would have been able
to do that! It's incredible what the human body can acheive! I also climbed my
first Fourteener (Mountain over 14,000 ft). I feel like I'm unstoppable!!

Officially Introducing ProjectLisha!!

There were a lot of things I was unhappy about in my life and it seemed like
everything was hitting me at different angles all at the same time, which i
believe finally triggered the *click*.

1) I couldn't look at myself in the mirror without feeling ashamed
2) I wanted to be in love, but how can someone love you if you don't even
love yourself
3) I was 6lbs away from getting to the weight i swore i would never reach
4) A talk with my Advisor Jeff about needing to take care of myself
5) Feeling my depression stage of my Bipolar II diagnosis swarming in
6) Wanting to finally accomplish the one thing in my life I've never been able
too..lose weight
7) Get my knees back in shape
8) Play sports again
9) Accomplish my goal of running my Homecoming 5K in the fall
10) Needing to renergize myself and reevaluate the things I was doing
11) Not wanting my brothers to be ashamed of me anymore
12) Actually coming back as the skinny girl, that used to be considered the
fat girl in high school
13) Queen Latifah joining Jenny Craig
14) Not wanting to develop weight related issues (like my knees weren't
trouble enough)

Seriously, there's probably a list of like 50 things long that I would continue
to write here, but those are the major things. It was that night that everything
sank in at one time. The difference is "at one time".. i've had spurts of those
but nothing as strong as being the soul center of it all.

I unwrapped the Hip Hop Abs tapes my mom had given me over Winter Break
and decided it was time to change my life. I started tape one that night,
joined milliondollarbody.com and started using wowy...their "Work Out With
You" program where you're virtually working out with people who are doing it
at the same time you are...could be 10 or even thousands..but it's a constant
work out buddy. They're people all using Beach Body products such as Hip
Hop Abs or Turbo Jam, etc

That night I also took my beginning picture or "start" point if you will..and all
of my measurements.

However, that wasn't going to be it for me. Working out has never been the
issue...it's also knowing that i ate atrociously and needed to really change
that aspect of my life is i was truly going to stick with this. With the help of
Beach Body, i got onto the 5 meal a day plan. I all three of my meals with two
snacks in between. More than that though, i gave up all the bad...no more
sweets, fast food, i gave up pasta and red meats...and for the time being
bread.

I now consume my life with fruits and veggies and lean meats (turkey and
chicken)...i get my whole grain from cheerios (woo hoo) and on occasion i'll
throw in brown rice or wheat bread. It's fascinating how much a committment
really is. I never in my life thought i would see myself eating a salad, and
forcing it down so much that i no longer cringe...or all the new fruits i've
tried...melon, honey dew, cantalope, etc...and the veggies...broccli, salad,
squash, etc...I'm so proud of myself for taking this step because it was the
hardest part...

I work out six days a week and twice on Saturday...
It's been a phenomenal journey thus far having reached a tremendous loss of
90 lbs and nearly 65.5 inches off my entire body...and still falling. I have an
ultimate goal of 180lbs and I hope to reach it by the end of the year.

I'm also proud to admit that my Driver's License weight is no longer a
lie...having made it 254 lbs when i got it on March 3rd...i've gone from
294...to a gorgeous 203...HOLLA! I take pictures and measurements each
week so i can see the progress and continue to motivate myself in that way as
well!

I'm constantly having to motivate myself...but the benefits of stepping on that
scale every week at the rec center is more satisfaction than any Peanut
Butter Cookie will ever give me again. I constantly have temptation and I do
treat myself when i make weight goals...

I wish i'd started earlier! I no longer feel guilty when weight loss commercials
come on TV...i feel revitalized knowing i've started to go for the goal! This is
Project Lisha and we're now in full force never going back to what i was
before. I'm so proud of myself!!

Expect constant updates... I hope to make a scrap book of my journey
because it's truly unbelievable!

Join the movement and start reaching the goals you've always wanted to
achieve. ProjectLisha...it could be you!!
