YOUR JOURNEY

There is a journey awaiting you
It comes in truth and promise
When you reach the point of not knowing who you are or where to go
This most precious but often painful passage is the journey of yourself
You will travel to places never before visited,
Where you meet unspoken fears and unearth buried truths
You will climb high and perilous mountains...those that rise up from inside

I was involved in a very serious car accident in 2001 and had to undergo cervical spine surgery in 2005. Prior to the surgery, I was a vice-president at a major financial institution, had studied martial arts for over 20 years, and led a very active lifestyle.

I felt like I hit rock bottom mentally and physically the years after the accident and subsequent surgery. In 2008, I decided to take control of my life for me, my health, my children, my fiancée and my existence. Before beginning the P90X program, I was 196 lbs, with a 38 waist size and 26.4 percent body fat. I am 47 yrs old and stand at five feet, seven inches.

My journey started one day when I saw a P90X program on TV. I was very intrigued by the rigor and intensity of the workout. At that point, I made a commitment to myself to try the program as my last chance to get my life back. I knew that the training would be one of the most difficult challenges that I had ever faced. I was also aware that I may not have been able complete the program due to my injuries.

After consulting with my physician and receiving the approval to try the program, I decided to purchase the package in May 2008. I was so motivated after I completed the fitness test successfully, that I decided to continue with the program. I did extensive research on the human body and mental functions. I also looked into interval training and different methods of healing and recovery (such as reiki, water therapy, heat therapy, yoga, acupuncture). I created a detailed one-year plan that consisted of six phases to getting my life back. The center piece of the plan was P90X.

I followed the nutritional plan everyday for the duration of the program. Specifically, I used the Fat Shredder and Endurance Maximizer. I had to slightly modify the fitness plan to avoid any possibility of injury, but I followed it to the best of my ability for three months.

I absolutely loved the work out. My personal favorites are the Yoga, Kempo, and Plyometrics, but the entire program is phenomenal. What really fascinated me about the program is that it incorporated so many diverse methods of training. I looked forward to the workouts because everyday was something new.

P90X paved my way back to health. It was really the best program for me. On top of the physical diversity and muscle confusion elements of the training, P90X gave me something that I was longing for. Throughout my life, I had been very athletic, and the training really brought back memories of running track in high school, playing in a local football league after college, and my decades in martial arts.

By end of the three months I had lost 40 lbs, reduced my waist size to 30 inches and my body fat to 14.6 percent. I gained muscle in my arms, chest, and legs, and my wingspan had increased. The strength I gained from the P90X program allowed me to regain control. I am back and loving it. Every aspect of my life has changed for the better. I feel incredible.

P90X gave me my life back. It motivated me to greater heights than I ever could have imagined possible eight years ago. I can now proudly say, I am a P90X graduate!

My accomplishments: May 2008 - Dec. 2009

•May 2008 – I began P90X

•August 2008 – I completed the program and became a P90X Graduate!

•October 2008 - I married the woman I love and promised her the best of me.

•November 2008 – I received a collegiate degree in Philosophy and Metaphysics.

•December 2008 – I was granted Board certification by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).

•February 2009 – I’m proud to say I was one of the monthly Beachbody transformation contest winners!

•March 2009 – I stopped all medications and the use of a CPAC machine.

•July 2009 – I returned to work. Thanks to the great impact of P90X and Tony Horton’s positive motivation, I decided to change my profession from information technology to personal training (as I would say wellness training).

•October 2009 – I received a diploma from the Penn Foster College that certified me to become a personal trainer. I also passed the National Council on Strength and Fitness certification exam.

•December 2009 – I was asked by Beachbody to be in a December 2009 infomercial and my pictures in the January 2010 P90X product in QVC. I also returned to the martial arts as a teacher. I received HKC certification to be a Kettlebell instructor.

•January 2010 – I was told that I was eligible and subsequently entered into the Million Dollar Body Game Grand Finale Contest.

•February 2010 – I was announced as a Finalist in Million Dollar Body Game Grand Finale Contest.

I look forward to continuing my accomplishments in 2010 and working out with P90X / P90X Plus / 10-Minute trainer.

My story is truly an indication that P90X is an amazing and transformative experience that absolutely changes lives.

The first three months of sacrifice and hard work were long and tough, but the rewards were immense. Bring it.
