Hi there, I’m Amanda. I'm 35 years old, I have two kids and attend Old Dominion University as a full time student. I’ve been playing volleyball competitively since middle school and have been running for the last ten years. Being active and enjoying life is what it's all about…it keeps me happy.

I injured my knee while running last year’s Rock n’ Roll half marathon (September 2008) with my 16 year old daughter. My workouts were majorly affected and for a period of time I became depressed because I couldn’t do what I loved to do…run. It took me a while to get “back in the game” and just as soon as I was starting to get my miles back up, I suffered another blow. I became really sick at the beginning of this summer and was put on bed rest. The little bit of running I was able to do and the beach volleyball games I loved playing with my boyfriend were no longer allowed. The void of physical activity and the prescribed medications (along with my healthy eating habits being replaced by unhealthy ones) helped me gain 15-20 pounds.

I feel like I’ve lost the real me…the one with all the energy who motivates others to be healthy and get active. I’m looking at the P90x program to help me get back on track. The P90x testimonies are incredible and the results are awesome. So, here I go...wish me luck. =)
