Maumee, OH Where to begin??? I started this program for real I believe on Labor Day, 9-09-09. I am a very over weight Short blond now at 180 lbs but had gotten up to about 197 lbs a few years ago back in the late '90's but haven't had much success. At least I have been trying more recently, to loose the weight. Back in August of '08 I was 186 lbs. so I was loosing the weight slowly but wasn't exercising, so Where to begin??? I used to be very thin, size 3, 115 lbs in '79 when I went into the Navy. I kept asking back in high school for more hips because I was as thin as a drink of water, no hips. Now I want to give those hips back, thank you very much!!!
I had seen an infomercial for Turbo Jam and Chalene Johnson with her excitement really got me interested in it. So one I asked my husband, Gary, if he would buy Turbo Jam for me. That was back in 2005. I only tried it for a few days but wasn't motivated enough back then to keep it up. Now I have 2 more inches all around my body to loose. That makes it a little harder. Now because of being over weight & 59 yrs old, I have High Blood Pressure & Sleep Apnea I do need to be careful and take this slowly in the beginning.
Then, just a few days ago around Sept 29th 09, I saw Chalene with Turbo Jam on TV again and was re-motivated to start for real this time. I am determined to lose the 60 lbs needed to achieve my goal weight of 120 lbs, slimmed down, toned up, stronger & healthier than before.
I am 5'2" tall and used to be under 98 lbs in school. I was also a Cheerleader in high school for 3 yrs because I loved to sing, dance, & do acrobatics. What really caught my attention with Turbo Jam was Chalene & her crew were using the dancing and kick boxing style for the workout & made it look like fun instead of work.
It reminded me of how much fun I used to have when I was in the Navy. I joined the Navy in 1978. I was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan & then to San Diego where I was on the Volleyball team & softball team for the Navy Sea hawks, rode my bike to the base, swam 15 to 20 laps almost every day at lunch time, worked out at their gym, Ran 2 mi around the base, & was learning to play racquetball. I was in such good shape then & only wore a size 3 in jeans. In the Navy, we had to either run 1.5 mi or swim 20 laps in 15 minutes quarterly to maintain the Navy standards for physical fitness or quals.
Since my discharge from the Navy and had a baby, I have really let myself go and have been up & down in weight so many times. I would lose 10 lbs & gain 20, lose 20 gain 30, lose 30 gain 40 & so on & so on... Now I believe I'm finally ready to be serious and am even considering the possibility of becoming an aerobic instructor. I just became an LPN in 8/07 and need to become more healthy, increase muscle mass, tone up, have more energy, and slim down in a reasonable amount of time. I want to make it a lifestyle now and have fun with it like Chalene and her group. I would like to thank you in advance for all the help and support you are/will be providing for me. I am looking forward with anticipation to what I can become.
