I've always had trouble with maintaining my weight. I was in the best shape of my life after graduating Marine boot camp 15 years ago, 5"11 169 lbs.

Since then my weight has gradually increased. After leaving the Marines at 240 lbs. I ballooned up to 285. I began slowly losing 60 while working a medium intensity labor job and attending college.

After meeting my wife and settling in with the comforts that marriage, kids and a good job brings, I've come to where I am now, a miserable 315 lbs as of March 1, 2010. I'm a firefighter and being so out of shape has a negative effect on my performance.

I knew something had to change, and change it has! I started P90X Monday, 4/5/10 and I'm already feeling benefits. I'm doing my best to follow the nutrition plan, and already feel more energetic and clear-minded. The workouts are intense, and I can't come close to finishing some of them. I take the mantra to heart "Do your best, forget the rest." My goal is to be able to complete every workout by week 12, and then hit a second round with max intensity!
