My name is Ashley Vargas and I am 26 years young. I live in St, Charles, IL a suburb outside of Chicago. I am in a band called "a gain of ten" (www.againoften.com). I also work with a company called MSD (Medical Specialty Distributors). Because I see a lot of people I was used to eating out and not really taking care of myself. I would go and stay out late and eat junk. My father passed away in the summer of '08 and it really got me thinking about my health. My dad had juvenile diabetes and he also had some heart issues. As a matter of fact my grandpa had a quadruple bypass surgery when he was 73 and he is still alive and kicking today. I set a goal at the beginning of this year to eat better and drop about 20 pounds. I tried a few diets and they worked ok, but I knew that the hard work wasn't there. I just wasn't sweating. I remember playing high school ball and how much I used to sweat, i kind of missed that. I joined a winter basketball league and that showed me how out of shape I really was. I was so fatigued and tired. I was in trouble.

Then as I stayed up late one night I, like many others, saw the P90X infomercial. It was the first informercial where I was like, this has got to be real. I never felt this way about any other infomercial. I told my wife that we needed to get it and so we did. I am now into my third round and I won't lie, I was little impatient but I was willing to wait for the results I wanted to appear. I now have a roomate of ours doing this with me and i also started INSANITY. My wife is pregnant with our first kid and is due in June. I want to make sure I am in the best shape i can be, i'm not there yet, but as the famous P90X catchphrase goes, "you're closer than you think".
