I am a 32 year old married male with wonderful children. I was at my prime fitness level when I was 18 years old. I recently finished Navy boot camp and recently married my excellent wife in 1995. During the summer of 1995 I was 5'8" and weighed 155lbs. Throughout my Naval career my fitness routine was always consistent however by 1999 my weight crept up to around 170lbs and my body did not have the shape that it did four years previous. Since 1999 I was honorably discharged from the Navy and my real life began. I was going to school at night and started to work for a soda distributor as a delivery driver. During my three year career as a delivery driver I was always pushing my body to the extreme as my job duties depended upon it. My weight was still hovering around 170lbs but my arms, shoulders, back, stomach and legs were getting back to the once loved body of 1995. This was largely due to the physical strength and agility needed for my every day work. In 2001 I had my first child and my energy was there for me to keep up with her everlasting enthusiasm. However, I was working on my college career as a computer programmer and an opportunity came up for me to work in my field of study in 2003. Switching jobs put me in a position of activity all day long to a position of sitting at a desk for eight hours a day. My body was jolted from running at 70-100% performance per day to 30-60% performance. During that time I had my second lovely daughter and my life, body, and my motivation to keep my body fit was on a fast downhill slope. From October of 2003 to today (July 2nd of 2009) my weight and size continually increased. I tried the usual yearly enthusiastic attempts at hitting the gym however with my work, kids, and just pure laziness those attempts only lasted a few months at the most. It is now July of 2009 and my life is about to dramatically change with the P90X program. I am at an embarrassing 195lbs and my body is in the worst shape that it has ever been in. I am currently squeezing into a size 36 pant but would rather wear a 38 because I hate to feel the fat from my gut be pushed up by my pants. I keep telling myself that it's just a phase or that I am just getting older. However, since I have heard of the P90X program from friends and saw their results I started to get excited. I found myself in wonderland when I was watching the infomercial for the P90X program and I thought THAT IS IT! I am done with this body, I am done with this shape. So with P90X as my tool and my body and memories as my motivation I am on my journey to regain the body that my wife fell in love with in 1995. As they say, "Just press play." So my journey begins on Tuesday July 7th of 2009 and I know that it won't be easy but the rewards will be great.
