As a result, I have been training for a good portion of my life in one way or another.
I have experienced weight problems in my life. I have experienced bouts of unhealthy living. I have had times where i have not taken care of myself and/or my well being, both from a mental and physical standpoint. I understand the struggles that we can go through on a daily basis. Those struggles can lead to choices. Those choices can become habits. Good or bad, those habits shape our lives.
I became a Beachbody Coach because I love meeting people that care about fitness and health in the way that I do. I find myself supporting and cheering people trying to change their lives for the better. This committment to our well being is a common bond that the majority of our society does not have, and the overall health of the country really reflects that. I think it is important for us as healthy, active human animals ;) to spread the word that fitness is not about self indulgence or vanity. Sure there is a certain amount of wanting to look good in all of us, but the bottom line is that fitness and healthy leaving equal a longer and better life. And who doesn't want those things?
As a Beachbody Coach i want to spread the word that fitness and eating right are the KEYS to a long and happy life! I see what we do here as real fitness for real people and am always excited to cheer someone on, lend an ear, bounce ideas...

Despite being active for most of my life, I have also had a continual struggle with my weight and nutrition. I have never had what others consider a "weight problem" although I HAVE weighed more than I should at various times during my life. People sometimes assume that if you have never been extremely overweight you don't have issues with food or that you don't struggle. Not so.
I began exercising and watching my diet at around 13 years old. The habits I developed to "control" what I considered the inevitable outcome of my body based on what I saw around me were not always sound or even safe. I have always trained with intensity and I've always been committed to exercise.
It wasn't until my 30's, however, that I embraced the whole package of fitness AND healthy diet. What led to this was quite honestly that all of the habits and strategies I used to rely on were no longer working. As my body aged and changed, it wasn't responding to any of my long held tactics. I was beginning to look tired. I was beginning to look old. I was starting to gain the weight I had for so long managed to avoid. Worse than all of that, I was feeling REALLY bad. I think that alot of women experience this. It is a common factor with which we need each other's support and encouragement.
I have spent over 20 years in or around the fitness industry. I worked at a gym in high school and worked my way through college at a gym, training people on equipment, selling supplements, clothing and memberships. I love fitness and I think that an active lifestyle and healthy eating practices are the keys to a longer life and a happier life.
Linda Hamilton said once in an interview after T2 that it was an amazing thing to fall in love with your body, to watch it transform, to enjoy living in it. I think that this should be experienced by all women. We are all worth that!
