I'm 27 and live in Arizona. I'm chronically tall and skinny but my fitness level was pretty low through out high school and sky rocketed after joining the US Marines. I went from a 6'5, 185 lbs kid to a 220 lbs lean infantry Marine in my first year. After I got out in 2004 my weight dropped back down to "skinny" and fitness level fluctuated depending on my motivation to look better. In 2006

Transformation story

I've owned P90X for over a year and never really had the motivation to keep up with it for 90 days. My motivation was to look better at the lake and feel better energy wise but that comes and goes. Recently I've had two major changes in my life that REQUIRE me to stay physically fit so I've started once again with new goals and motivation.

I'm a former Marine and had been out of the USMC for exactly 5 years until last May. I joined the Reserve component which requires you maintain a fitness level equal to that of a fleet Marine. It's easy to stay in shape when part of your work day is physically training with your platoon. Heck, even if you don't feel like running or doing pull ups, your fellow Marines are going to push you through it anyways. It's not so easy when your only contact with your unit is once a month for a 2-4 day weekend and unit PT is something they don't practice.

My second life changing event is beginning a career in law enforcement. I've been involved in sales and marketing since leaving active duty and fitness isn't real high on the priorities. Looking back on sales, I was a slim twenty something year old surrounded by fat 40-50 year olds. I'm guessing they started out slim too... Fitness is not only required for law enforcement but it is paramount to your safety in the field.

So my goals are to regain the level of fitness I once enjoyed as an active military component. I hope to eventually not only pass but "ace" all of the physical fitness tests in my chosen careers.

When I started this program last month I was skin and bones. 6'5" and only 184 lbs. While at the peak of my fitness in the USMC I was at a lean 220 lbs. I'm not too focused on my weight but I'd expect to be between 200 and 215 if I can recapture the stature and strength I had 5 years ago.
